Luxray...That Pokemon would def. go on a luckfeast. You hear it here first. Lol.

Definately a favourite to beat up AMU and Kingdra if is fast enough. Still lose terribadly to Groudonk.

Peope keep saying "this would own AMU" ...

If you swarm the STAGE 2s .. ok .. sure.

But one blast = 1 KO'd Luxray.
If you don't have another on deck .. . curtains.

^have you actually tested it? because if you have and ur list is fast youll win. leveling up t2 gets me 90 for 2 energys the rest of the game. and if you zenblade me t2 ill just rotom them,

I think this card is over-hiped. It's good, but not as good as people wish it was. 7/10

This Luxray is 10 HP away from greatness. If he had 130 HP and forced Kingdra to need a PP or Bucks or spread to KO him then I think that he would own the blue dragon. But as is Kingdra just two shots him without needing any of that and lacks the speed to two shot or OHKO Kingdra back.

On the other hand Luxray just eats alive some other decks that need level Xs to work and isn't a bad card overall.

7/10 ... good but not quite top tier.

Kind of good card. Except, I destroyed this card in like 5 seconds with Moth Ballz and Kingdra.

Pretty average daily card.

6.5/10

Are you kidding me?

My luxray deck has lost one game to AMU. ONE GAME. EVER. And that game I didn't draw a supporter and couldn't get out an evolution for at least 5 turns.

Why you people think LUXRAY is overhyped when hardly anyone talks about it and you support the cards that are really overhyped baffles me.

I think Luxray is a great card. I don't really even have as much of a problem with Kingdra as most people claim to, but I'll admit I've one been donked a couple times by it, and thats where its winning strength lies. Heck, I've even come up with techs to beat Groudonk and Torterra.

9.5/10

I've beaten Luxray with with AMU lots of times. This card is effective, but its easy to play it incorrectly. In a
game where many decks focus on their LVX's FTW, this is a nice counter. Pairs well with Raquaza and energy
switch, as well as energy pickups, there are a lot of great cards to play with this! Its also nice to have free
retreat.

93/100

7/10

doing 140 for 3 is nice and all, you gotta play ray and energy pickups/switches though.
kingdra's weakness and free retreat is neat, but I dont think it can stand the heat like some of the other archetypes nowadays.

I don't know how AMU could beat a good Luxray deck.

However, Matchup vs Groudonk is autoloss, and some other decks like Neo Plox, Scepterra and Togechomp are also very difficult matchups.

Without the body, Luxray is just an average card - you can play the deck and you can win, but it is nothing special. So any decks that don't need Lv.X and don't have weakness or something else should be in slight advantage against Luxray.

At all, I think Luxray is a really good deck that's only a few bits below the top tier category. The biggest drawback is that you are very dependant on matchups, more than in any other good deck.

Modified card rating: 9/10
Great Body, decent attacks and free retreat.

Great Card, been playing it all season with Rayquaza. Had a hiccup awhile back, but its fairly consistant, fast, and deadly

9/10

WTB 110 Damage or 130 HP >.< Stoopid Magmortard......

Luxray LA is definitely a big improvement over his DP counterpart. 120 HP is slightly below the 130 we've come to expect of Stage 2s, +30 Weakness to Fighting is ok since Fighting isn't big (yet), -20 Resistance to Metal is...better than nothing, and a free Retreat Cost is excellent of course. Rivalry is an interesting Poke-Body, letting Luxray deal an additional 50 damage if your opponent has a Lv X on their side. As a good many decks use Lv X Pokemon these days (AMU, Torterra, Magmotar, Leafeon, etc), this is a very nifty Body to have. Plasma does a simple 40 for 2 Colorless Energy, and lets you attach a Lightning Energy from the discard to Luxray. Shock Bolt does an impressive 100 for 2 Lightning and 1 Colorless, but you have to discard all Lightning Energy attached to Luxray. A good partner for Luxray is Rayquaza, along with some Energy Swtich Trainers.

Modified - 8/10 (Solid deck, does great against Kingdra and any deck with Lv Xs hanging around)
Limited - 8/10 (If you ever get this out, he has some nice damaging attacks plus can recover Lightning Energy onto himself with Plasma)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use, is ERed and SERed alive)

For those who say the luxray deck isn't that great or fast you clearly have never played with or against a good list. The only bad matchup luxray has is against Groudon, and it struggles with Gallade. It doesn't need the body to be good. The only way AMU can beat the "good" luxray list is outspeed with a god hand, even then....

8.5-9/10 Stormfront might push the luxray deck to the top

A good Luxray deck, with a good player behind it, will and should always have an advantage against AMU. I'm sorry but I think all of you that are making judgements about this matchup havent actually tested it and are just making assumptions about the matchup in your mind. Or maybe u have just played poor Luxray decks, or are just plain flat out being dishonest.

I've found that Luxray actually does have a tougher matchup than one would think against Kingdra. Sure it has Kingdra's weakness, but it is slower to setup most of the time. And its tough to make a comeback when being swarmed by Kingdras that can attack for 1 energy. Tough to outspeed. And tough to just keep up with the swarm.

Overall, I still believe Luxray is a viable deck choice for Modified. It can compete with almost any deck out there. Battle Roads statistics have already PROVEN that its not the biggest winner, but it has had many wins and good results.
