At first when I got this card in a Majestic Dawn booster I was really disappointed with it, because I realised it was the only rare I was going to get in the booster. However, now you guys have told me that its Poke-Power is cumulative I see the true potential of this card.

The attack is weak and only for use when you are desperate, but the resistance is good, considering that Lucario Level x, rampardos, solrock, lunatone, claydol and machamp are all still popular in the area which I play in. I personally do not enjoy playing with fighting type pokemon cards, yet I know lots of other people do. The retreat cost of one is no better than average for a stage 1 and I do not rate normal types in the Modified Format much, because they are only strong against dragon types such as Salamence ex.

I will not be playing this card in any of my decks, until I get more than one copy of it and more Zapdos, Majestic Dawn, to combo with Old Amber. After this thorough review of a pokemon card that I did not like at first, I have come to the conclusion that the card deserves a score of 7.5/10.

It's only usefull for it's Poke-Body.
Can be a part of some complex strategy though.
7/10

I have to say that Old Amber is NOT a Fossil. Therefore, it can't be searched with Relicanth, Fossil Excavator and stuff like that.

love its power. use omanyte PK or holon fossil to get it out. once those cards are rotated out however, it becomes VERY hard to search this guy out.

Overrated imho. Aerodactyl evolves from a fossil that can't be searched with Excavator or Relicanth. That means, there never has been a Stage 1 Pokémon more difficult to get out.

The Body, of course, is really good, but this is the only thing it can do. It doesn't attack or support in any way, takes a slot on your bench and is shut off by Battle Frontier and LatiLock.

Margmortar doesn't care very much about the Body, Gardevoir and Plox decks run Dusknoir and sometimes Battle Frontier. So it mainly hurts Claydol, and the opponent has to choose when using the power and taking damage for that.

To get it out quickly, it should be played either in a straight fossil deck (to search Old Amber with Kabuto's power) or with Holon Fossil. This card not only lets you get around that "semi-fossil" Old Amber, but also makes Aerodactyl immune to both Battle Frontier and LatiLock.

HP-on modified: 6/10
DP-on modified: 7/10 (powers become more important without DRE etc. -btw should be funny against Magnezone decks)
Limited: 3/10 (colorless is nice in limited, but there are very few Pokémon with powers in MD)
Unlimited: 3/10 (at least, you can combine with Strange Cave and older Aerodactyls)

i just tought about a complex way to get this out´. use relicanth to get holon fossil witch apperantly works to get aero out ? then use that to search it out. would that work ? and would the same thing work with fossil excavator?

great card,

7/9

Holon Fossil makes it easly to Aerodactyl out. Both Relicanth and Fossil Excavator can get Holon Fossil so you are set there. On the bench as a basic (and thus not able to be lati-locked or battle frontiered) Aerodactyl is just a pain in the tial to all those decks that use powers. Once you get 2+ of them it's game changing.

Looks like everybody is hypes because of the new stuff....

To be honest tough, I think this card is decent, but not the best, even if you've got 3 benched it remains a pokemon with a crappy attack and only has 80HP and is the last pokemon in his evolution line (most pokemon of that kind have 90 HP or more)

With luck the pokebody can be cool (if you've got some benched) but still the opponent can choose not to use the poke-power, good disruption but it isn't hard to thake out.

6.5/10

5/10. The problems I see are that it's not really a game changer, just a little inconvenience. You can CHOOSE not to use Poke-powers. Easy to kill. Takes up another bench space when playing Dusknoir. That's all.

If you USE Fossil Excavator or Relicanth, you probably have a Fossil deck, which makes you easy to kill with attacks anyways.

You dont really need to Stock pile your bench with these unless you want to. The most you really need to have on your bench is 2. Cause 4 example if claydol uses its power once and you have the 2 Aerodactly's out. Right then and there Clyadol is put at risk to being knocked out by a snipe or even the use of its power again.
