Well, it can do 100 damage for 2 with sceptile. That is great and all, but how can you get that out? Phione? Phione will often be dead by t3, so you may only get torterra out and still need to search for sceptile. It isn't good to have a pokemon that can't do any damage unless you have a stage 2 out.

Also, fire will be HUGE with heatran lx. This will weaken torterra a lot. Not only does weakness hurt, but magmortar lx comboed with heatran lx can take the deck down instantly. Magmortar lx can snipe sceptile off the bench, and once sceptile is gone, the whole deck goes down with it.

Still, the payoff is amazing. And a certain chia pet-like lx that we get in november will make torterra hard to take down. So if you can get a good set up with it, go with torterra. Just remember, if we get any serious sniper pokemon, torterra's days are finished.

It doesn't mean it will. Magmortar only has 110 HP and Torterra LvX with Bubble coat and Buck's training or Plus-Power can beat a Magmortar. Also don't forget, Torterra LvX bench snipes too, that means it weakens the magmortar LvX. Bastiodon makes Magmortar mad, The bench protection. Even at a regionals I saw a sceptile deck 6-0 a Magmortar, but Magmorar/Togekiss or Charizard/Togekiss might actually have a chance.

I give this card a 10/10 becuase:

High HP and Good Attacks, well with Sceptile in play.
Torterra's one of my favorite pokemon.
Gives me a good reason to play Torterra Lv.X.
Has lots of potential.

This card is a little crazy, 60 damage and 10 to the benched with just two energy???? Where else would
you get that? @_@ 'can't use frenzy plant next turn'....it's ok, I'll just settle for the LVX's attack, or just
do 60...that should be enough...

It's got a lot of HP, and the only real downside is the retreat cost....but with that kind of power, who cares! @_@

the 60 damage attack is just wortless.
Even with the 100 damage attack, it just has to rely on the LV.X to continue hitting heavy.

Still, I am giving it a 80/100

8/10 good play vs poleon and GG however may have some set up issues and bench damage isn't effected by resistance.

Seen torterra work too.

when I played torterra at nats I played plox 2 times and totaly owned them both time they only took 1 prize in the mach and all becuase C beach and torterras power.

This card is very good if you play it right. The obvious combo is a quick torterra with sceptile but also a tech of 1-1 sunflora it can help heal damage done to all of you grass Pokemon so it can null the bench damage then add dawn stadium to remove even more damage if you attach an energy. Looking at this card it self it has 140 HP wich is alot of hit points. Weakness to fire is not that bad since fire has mostly died down. No resistance kind of sucks but oh well. 3 Reatreat cost kind of hurts so if you play him make sure you play a few switch/warp points. Now it's first attack for 2 CC for 60 is just awsome though ti dose have the drawback of doing 10 to each of your bench pokemon. It's second attack for GGCC for 100 is also a good cost but you can't use it again next turn which kind of sucks.
I give this card a 8.5/10 because it can bring out fast damage and with the lv x you can snipe and bring the 1HKO's to there damaged pokemon. Plus with the combo with sceptile makes this card even faster.

The damage done to the bench is YOUR bench, not the defending bench. That is generally a negative.

Back to Torterra...

Very good HP. Very high retreat cost. The weakness to fire can cause some problems vs. popular deck types.

If your deck is built to manage the 2 attacks and their costs a good card overall.

However, depending on a two stage two Pokemon to power your deck, may cause you to run into problems against a speedier decks.

7.0/10

I don't know if you need to build around Torterra, using Sceptile more as the utility card than a true attacker by itself. Sceptile is very efficient. Treecko to Grovyle to Sceptile is a solid chain.

Good with Sceptile but it could end up with set up problems. Hopefully theorys of the 3 starters are coming back.

Currently running it with Sceptile and and a DP Torterra... it's working out really well for me.

I played it at Nats with Leafeon LVX and Vapereon... that list didn't see much success in the tournament. :/

Remember though, it does 10 damage to your benched pokémon.

^says the Torterra Master, lol!!! It does work well with it, probably the best thing to run it with is Sceptile, IMO!!!

Now I do understand, but why would it be rated 10/10 in any case? Wouldn't the card itself be like a 5 or 6/10, considering the rating should be based on the card itself?

Or you should say "5/10 alone

10/10 with Sceptile"
