You all are simply ridiculous, this card is more than good for the current modified format.

As a matter of fact, I would argue that were it not for the impending threat of Golem 4 hitting Weakness, this might be the BCIF, taking Call Energy and Luxray GL Lv. X's throne.

Thirty for two is decent damage... a bit less than Claydol GE, however this Pikachu doesn't have a power to protect, and has one less retreat! But think about the metagame! This hits Palkia and Gyarados, two huge PocketMansters, for SIXTY damage. Just two energy! That is almost as good as Rampardos hitting for 80 with one!

If its attack only required one Water, it would be so insanely broken, it'd be almost as good as Shaymin Lv. X's Thankfulness Poke-Body, and they'd have to ban that, too.

However, we lucked out, and it's costed at two energy, so while it is a fierce competitor in the current modified format, it isn't as broken as some silly cards like Bubble Coat.

Today's CotD is Surfing Pikachu from RR, another fun reprint. Statwise, 50 HP is a bit low (10 less than common), x2 Weakness to :fighting: hurts, no Resistance is common, and :colorless to Retreat is cheap. Surfing Pikachu's only attck (surprise surprise) is Surf, which deals 30 for :water::water:. Yes, :water::water:, that's not a typo. In the old days, this means he could be splashed into a :water: deck as a surprise tech for the mirror match, but these days, 30 damage is a bit underwhelming, especially if it needs 2 Energies. Still, if you're planing on a fun deck with :water: Pokemon, perhaps you should give this fun little guy a shot as well.

Modified - 3/10 (Not too playable competitively, but he looks so darn cute!)
Limited - 8/10 (If you're planing on using a :water: deck, this is a good surprise tech)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here either, bad damage/energy ratio)

Its horrible. Machop can take him on by himself. Nosepass will also do the trick. Nice for the pikachu collection.

hmm... decent card back when it first came out, like in the 1999 metagame.
Thank you Nintendo for making "classic" reprint cards, that are absolutely a waste of space in my booster packs.
