Expected HP for a baby with the expected retreat. Weakness/resistance are nice too. The free attack is nice for disruption early game. While I do not see this being used very often it has potential. 5/10

Nice stall early on in the game and the energy switch is a nice plus but playability will probably be nonexistent when July comes around 4/10.

3rd!!!

This thing is like G-Pom but worse. With 30 hp, this thing won't last for very long. I don't see a good use for this card except for early game (and I mean turn 1/2). If only this thing had a good Jynx to go with it, but oh well...

Modified: 2/10

Oh jeeze wait til alex2k sees thisч

I personally don't find it useful, it's just too fragile for an easily countered effect (energy switch, retreat/seeker etc)

2/10 I spose

Don't get smooched at regionals!
Oh, not funny anymore?
With Emboar roaming around putting energy everywhere and seeker bring energy back up, this card is worse than ever. 2/5

Today's CotD is Smoochum from HGSS...well, yet another utterly worthless/useless Baby Pokemon. Statwise 30 HP is horrible no matter how you look at it (even if it's a Baby), no Weakness is nice, no Resistance is common, and no Retreat Cost is great. Sweet Sleeping Face as usual is a fail Poke-Body, just as likely to give your opponent a prize instead of delaying the inevitable. Energy Antics is a waste of an attack; for no Energy, you get to move an Energy from one of your opponent's Pokemon to another one of their Pokemon, while putting Smoochum to sleep in a fail chance at getting its Poke-Body to work. Woohoo?

Modified - 1/10 (Wonder how many poor trees they killed printing this common junk?)
Limited - 1/10 (Well easy prize for your opponent I guess if you're looking to loose quickly to get out of prereleases faster)
Unlimited - 1/10 (No use here as well, may as well use it as a coaster. I'm not sure it even makes good tinder...)

This card is sexier than my grandma!

A sick no energy attack, designed to completely uphaul your opponent's setup. Works well against decks that run SP energy. Free retreat means you can always pull it out of the active spot, and a sweet body that will actually no longer be stopped by Dialga G Lv X. This card is only going to get better, and better!!

Please name a good deck running sp energy

I like the Babies, but I just wish they could evolve and have another purpose.

Silly baby pokemon shouldn't be up this late.

It's only redeeming quality is the razor-thin edges on the card, perfect for slicing my eyeballs to rid my sight of this abomination.

Well, now we're reviewing one of the Baby Pokemon of the set. 30 HP is bad, no weakness or retreat is simply awesome and no resistance is common. Looking at Smoochum's poke-body, it can help stall out a bit since not too many Pokemon place damage counters. Looking at the attack now, moving any energy attached to your opponent's pokemon is pretty good for some disruption and even puts Smoochum to sleep to avoid taking damage (hopefully).

Overall:
Modified: 4/10 this format, 6/10 next format.
Limited: 7/10 Good disruption since not a whole lot of cards can move energy around either.
Unlimited: 2/10 better starters here and all that fun jazz.

Please name a good deck running sp energy

herpderp he means SPECIAL. like double colorless.

Your being a Picky Patty about this and it is driving me up the wall.

Smoochum will be rather spiffy in this next format. Not against Emboar though, you noobs.

I love how people here can say a card sucks just because one popular archetype could own it (mid to late game mind you)

Slapping a 7/10 for win. Combo it with mime jr lock early game / electravire any time and your opponent might just want to punch you in the face.

so... this is a basic pokemon, can't evolve into jynx because it's a basic pokemon, (correct me on that, been out of the game for way too long) has 30 hp, and an attack ambipom does better... think i caught everything there.

1/10 because if you stick it in the spokes of your bike, it sounds cool.

Although alex still is a troll the blindness of people surprise me... This casrd is pretty decent in the next format, imagien the situation where you dont have any energys on the field and your attacker needs two of them..
