"If you can dodge a TV, you can play Luxchomp" and returns to the skill-based formats this game once required.

Naki - I really liked your post and agree with 99% of it. I wouldnt call SP(LuxChomp, DialgaChomp builds) a non-skill deck to play. Not everyone can run SP and have you ever seen 2 highly skilled Pokemon players both running SP in a Finals match. Very skilled and each move needs to be given thought. IMHO.

Now FlipGar what skill is there to flip a heads and earn a free prize? Now that card is a joke and should have been gone along time ago. Whats next a Stadium card that says flip 2 coins and if both are heads you win the game?

The website says their goal is to start the format with 9 sets and end with 13. With that being said it should be RR-on.

Doesn't that same thing also say they reserve the right to stray from that plan when they deem necessary for the sake of the game or something along those lines?

But still, if there only options were RR-on or PT-on, RR-on would undoubtably be the much better choice for the sake of the game. I seriously doubt that they go HGSS-on, that is just getting rid of too many sets.

Omg, 10 pages of discussion is a lot XD !

I've seen very interesting point of views here and I don't agree with all of them, of course, but I just want to bring another point.

What did Pokémon wanted to do with the release of Pokémon Black & White video games at first ?

They wanted to reset.
They wanted to start all over again, without interfering with the previous games. It is a new world, no more Prof. Oak !

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the video games came before the cards ;) (and before the anime ?) !

In my opinion, the video games are the reference.

Considering that logic, I think if TPCi wants to follow its ideas, they should go with a B&W-on format.

Now wait.

This might be a little extreme. It would mean 12 sets rotated out (not counting Rumble). They simply cannot afford doing so.

Consequently, I think they will go for HGSS-on. Fewer sets rotated, but at least still logical with block rotation.

In addition, I think it is better to follow the original format, which is Japan's. It would be easier for Worlds with every country having played with the same sets. Japan might get them first, but as long as other countries DO get them eventually before Worlds, which is at the END of the "year", chances are the same for everyone, no matter where you're from. (And I also think we should have the exact same sets as them, only translated. That would avoid catastrophes like CoL...)

And if the rotation is at the end of the season series, then we might have one right after Disk Catch ?
What about this summer being HGSS-on and this September being B&W-on ?

Anyways, I really can't wait to know the official rotation, and I expect it to be intelligent and explained.

Doing SF on would do nothing but take out pixies SP would still dominate and vile gar would still be boring to play against. As results are showing SP taking the most event i think its clear the cyrus /turn/radar/gain engine need to go.

I should rephrase my statement slightly. My beef is primarily with Luxchomp. While I am well aware of a lot of highly skilled players who have run Luxchomp numerous times in the past couple of years and I respect them for playing which IMHO is the bdif, I have absolutely no beef with them. However I have also bore witness to countless players (and I say this lightly) who come clearly out of the woodwork, playing Luxchomp, misplaying terribly, yet can still recover strictly off the speed and power of the deck alone. That. Is what I despise about this deck. It rewards players who obviously misplay, and it irritates me immensely.

Dialgachomp? I've no beef. It is a ridiculously hard deck to run that requires little to no misplay, lest you dig yourself an early grave. I can't play the deck for the life of me and I will admit this happily. I am of the honest belief that this is truly the BDIF, simply because it is so hard to play, and it rewards those players who do it correctly.

Sablelock also is on this list and I know people know my stand on Sablelock. It too is a hard deck to play because it requires an abundant amount of devil's advocate. While it can donk, it is not the decks premise, and when I ran it at Indiana States, I got a grand total of 0 donks.

This statement I'm a little more sketchy on. I ran Flipgar on many occasions and had many a good game with it. It requires much more decision than one might think, and winning the Luxchomp matchup requires a large amount of skill to take off. Its a little sketchy, I understand. However it has never once been the know-all end-all BDIF, and thats why I'm okay with this deck.

You forgot Zekrom. 120 damage without a discard? Yes please.

I think Reshiram scares me a bit more. That Emboar combo is kind of beefy.

You gonna set up a stage 2 to fuel a basic for which you have to keep recycling the energies...

Or are you just gonna play a Collector to get Pachirisu, Shaymin and Zekrom and call it a day?

oh, well i am going to have 4 defenders in my hand so...

And the stars will align above my house so I will be capable of firing the ultimate laser cannon in five turns therefore I shall obliterate any and all comers so I can once and for all RULE TH- wait what? YOU LEFT THE CAMERA ON? TURN IT OFF

I don't see how remotely possible it'd be to be able to drop a Phanpy that fast. Donphan is known for its speed. Even if it doesn't have BTS or T1 Candies at its back any more, its still ridiculously versatile and ridiculously fast in a format like the next seasons. Maybe with a god hand, I can see it, but more often than not its not gonna be relevant.
