Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

2nd, 4-1, and a very angry player

yes it says on the card lol and most to's and jugdes say that if you know your gonna lose the match and such to scoop and save time instead of sitting there wasting time lol and either way you should report the to if they give you a written warning for scooping lol also where do you play ??...Just curious.

Uhh, I DID, and that's my issue. I was wondering why it was 4-0 when he lost, got it?

Because he felt like stating he was 4-0 because he didn't like his Finals game.

GOT IT? =/

The candy thing is pretty lame. Have you considered doing anything about it?

Wait, your TO gives you a warning if you scoop a match?

Now that's just not right. =\
I'd file a complaint about that, if nothing else.

You can conceed a match at any point in a game. Heck in Northwest regionals this year, we had a player who was playing his brother in T8. He beat his brother in the 1st game, and then right before he won the 2nd game he scooped up his cards and said he conceeded the 2nd and 3rd games so that his brother could play into the T4.

As for Rare candy I allways play them next to my actve pokemon so that there is not any question that it is being played. Then I discard it after my attack along with any supporter that I may have played that turn.

ya thats what i do i normally put the candy on the poke or to the side then discard it so my opp knew i used it and what i used it on so makes it easier.

That's stupid, if I went 4-1 I'd put 4-1 whether or not I liked losing. Get it.

You shouldn't fear warning especially if you know what you are doing isn't wrong. If you needed to scoop you should of regardless of what the tournament organizer said. I remeber them asking people at regionals not to put stuff in the discard right away so a judge can come and look things through if need be or something. You probably just wen't to fast.

You have no reason to be mad. You should of just scooped and the caution wasn't a big deal anyways you know you weren't trying to cheat.

So did you get the warning because you said the other player did the same thing or because you played the candy too fast?

I got one for playing the candy too fast, and a written one for saying the other player does the same thing.

As a completely separate bystander, I would encourage you to contact OP about this issue. Posting it here is not only not going to accomplish anything, but it's also tarnishing the name of your PTO. This is an unfortunate incident, and not being there I can't say who is "correct", but I'm sure OP would like to know about the issue and make sure it is corrected, at least in an explanation to you of what rules you were breaking.

Oh my gosh. I mean its okay to say "I cant give him a caution because I did not see it" but to give a warning because you said he did the same thing is dumb.

Nice to see that Blaziken made it to the US. ^^
Grats on your second place. =)

Your judge maybe should re-read the penalty guidelines, but I think this has been discussed enough and the only thing that really helps is contacting TPCi.

I slide a Rare Candy onto the field, from my hand, calling out "Rare Candy", enough for anybody even remotely close to be able to see it, and discard it, evolving my Torchic to Blaziken.

Don't know how to read this, but the correct way of playing this is:

Put rare candy on the table, (call the cards name).
Evolve a Pokemon.
Discard the candy.
(and not the other way around, discard it and than evolve)

If I read it correct and knowing the USA sloppy way of playing (yes it's actually sloppy play)
It sounds to me you discarded it fast (and even before you actually did what the card told you to do: EVOLVE).

IN that case you play incorrect but also the penalty was based on a wrong understanding on HOW to play such card.
Not sure if this is the case due to the way your report is written.
