Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

A New Location for Worlds 2013?

Well now when the rumor says that pokemon is going to die in USA, becouse there is no more regional rewards, Worlds are welcome to Europe

Anywhere but Hawaii. I can at least fight with plane tickets within the continental USA. Its not practical for me to spoon out 1000 dollars for a plane ticket to Hawaii (I was curious last night and did some crunching on prices and its just not pretty) If you put it in NY, I wouldn't care, you put it in Seattle, I wouldn't care. If you put it in Myrtle Beach, I wouldn't care, if you put it in Miami/Orlando/whatever, I wouldn't care.

Hawaii? No. As much as I'd love to have a trip to Hawaii for 4-5 days, its just not practical in my budget at all.

I don't think Hawaii is practical for a lot of people's budget

I'm happy it's in the US but I'd certainly understand if it was in other countries as well. I mean, when you think about it, Hawaii is STILL in the US, just smack dab in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

I vote for Philadelphia one year. And what about Washington, DC one year? Worlds in the nation's capital?

Or, what about announcing them 3 - 4 years out (kinda like the Olympics) so you have something to shoot for financially?

But please, Hawaii can't be good for ANYONE not already living in Hawaii.

P.S. I have been to Hawaii, it's maybe (big MAYBE) worth a trip once but nothing about it made me ever want to return.

Put it in Toronto.

Understandably, I am Canadian, so it's probably my bias, but Toronto - out of the big cities - has one of the cheapest hotel places (from what I've experienced), is within driving range from New York, and has a bunch of convention centers that can easily be replaced with the location.

Insofar as Worlds is at Hawaii, I will never be going to Worlds, invite or not, because I can't afford it.

it is also that the pokemon vice presidents and stuff like to play golf the week or two before the event and in Florida during august which is hurricane season so rain equals no golf i heard this from a couple pokemon organizers

Personally, I think the whole east-coast hurricane aspect is overstated (by the way, hurricanes do hit Hawaii every decade or two). It'd be interesting to see a comparitive analysis of the threat of a major hurricane versus the threat a major earthquake.

There was a hurricane there in 2007 just after worlds

Hawaii Makes it easier for the Japanese. However i do miss Orlando. The one thing I do wish is if nats wasn't in Indianapolis. Saint Loius and Columbus flights were cheaper.
Of Course Hawaii is going to cost way more than anything in the contiguous 48 states.

In a way, I almost find nationals more acceptable because it's in the same location (presumably) every year. However, I should point out that I don't consider that a valid excuse (if it even is an excuse) for having Worlds out west so much since Nationals in Indy means squat to everyone outside the US.
