A Word about Theft

I took my kid towards the bathroom at the last battlezone.
Turned my back for only 30 seconds and my deck was gone.
Judges gave me 15 min and several players (some strangers) Chipped in to recreate my deck.

Never saw those cards again. :(

why in the earth does ppl so stupid bringing their COLLECTION TO the tournament??

for wat show off?? and later got stolen??

i didnt meant tat it should be stolen ,it just tat u shouldnt bring tat type of stuff, only bring cards u have for trade/sale and your deck

Well, I don't keep my "Trade Cards" seperate from my "Collection Cards". I like to know what I have and what I don't; and having my cards split up between two places is confusing to me  .

Besides, sometimes I will trade my singles if the deal is good enough. My other friend traded several singles for a couple of really rare cards.

I somehow lost a $20 bill at the ECSC. I still don't know whether it was stolen or if I accidentally dropped it.

I've never had my cards stolen, but I do know people that have. And when those people don't have an amazing collection already, its seen as a waste of time for them to get back in the game if their one and only deck was taken. Stealing takes people out of the game and is just plain wrong to begin with =| I was VERY lucky at Nationals when I left my bookbag in the food court by accident and after realizing I had left it was able to run back and get it, without a single thing missing.

Some people are just jerks and some jerks play Pokemon and they're going to steal your cards, so its pretty important that you keep an eye on them. It shouldn't be important, but it is =|

Yeah, at a preelease, the guy that runs our league got an entire set of ta/tm stolen, exs and averythng. A couple years back, a kid stole my shining tyranitar and raichu from me at league. I caught him, but they were stuffed in his pocket, their quality runed by folds and stuff. You would think that this kind of start of pokemon gaining some popularity (atleast in my area) is good, but its a double edged sword.

Well, almost a full day has gone by and I haven't heard from anyone regarding this binder....

I know that the chances of seeing it again are slim.... I just thought I'd give it a shot.

I am an Optimist as heart and I believe in the Greater Good of man, but sometimes it's really difficult.

If the thief really needed cards I would have given some.... I've hooked up new players with tons of unused commons and uncommons. I sometimes even throw in a rare so he/she can make a deck (theme deck style)....

There's simply no excuse for stealing someone's cards.

To quote NikePK: "...And when those people don't have an amazing collection already, its seen as a waste of time for them to get back in the game if their one and only deck was taken. Stealing takes people out of the game."

The rest of Team Eevee and I will do what we can to keep TheDarkOne in the game.

It's also sad but true that people also need to keep a closer eye on their stuff.
After we had some things stolen at the ECSC, we made a couple of announcements about what happened and reminded people to keep an eye on their things.
After that, there were plenty of times that we saw binders or boxes just sitting alone on a table, no one within 10 feet.
Occasionally, a Judge would walk over to some unattended items and loudly announce "Look what I found! Free cards for me" and then take it and walk a bit away. Not once did anyone speak up right away that the items were theirs. Usually, it took us a few minutes to find who the items belonged to! If a thief had taken it, they would have been long gone before the items were missed.

I had a near-perfect Reverse Holo Scizor/Muk/Furret deck go missing at the FAT, no idea where it went. Out of my bag maybe? No idea.

I keep everything near me at all times, it makes going to the bathroom interesting - my deck was hosed down w/ water at the Amsterdam European Stadium Challenge (TeGo will remember having to lend me a Totodile) - but that aside I'd rather go through all that than have my decks stolen.

I remember MMan8889 had his TMP deck go missing at the TMP and he and Indy had to drop out - they were doing really well.

I don't, in any way, blame the staff at the ECSC for the theft problem. I know that you guys had your hands quite full that day with everything going on. The responsibility falls on the players to make sure that their stuff is with them at all times.

Yea this SUCXS SOOO BAD, the dark one was one of my good freinds too (go team eevee:) ) and WHO ever stole his binder is a dispicable person

DarkOne if you listing, im am currently going through my collection (exp-aqu/mag) and trying to put complete collections toghter for you. I defently can do all the commons and uncommons from most of those sets (yes even skyridge) and probly all the rares, however the i cant give you all the holos, and good trainer cards (like rarecandy and oracle and ect....) are going to be hard to give you.

I know how this feels, at the FAT last year, i was standing waiting to hear the rankings after the main torney, and i was sitting at a lunch table style bench (where the bench is attached to the table) and i was turnded arround facing DMTM, listing for the rankings, and my deck that i played all day was right behind me (meganium/eggs/dodrio/promo syther) and when he got to me and i found out i was in 10th, i turned arround kinda disapointed not to make top 8, and low and behold MY DECK WAS GONE. Needless to say i was freaking upset! and i was like "wow, good thing i DIDNT make top 8, cause i wouldnt be able to play in it!"

stealing is wrong, and im a firm beleaver in 'what goes arround comes arround'

:D :D

Every now and then when I go to a big tournament(like a prerelease) I leave my stuff with my dad(he doesn't play but he stays and watches.) Or if he leaves I carry my stuff around like it was my life. I heard a kid just starting out lost his deck. I think they found it though.

God, this really makes me mad
I hate thieves

I know this one person (one this site actually) who had his Shining Raichu and another Shining stolen from him. The next week, a person (that we know) said, "look guys (shows us the two stolen Shinings) my mom bought me all the Shinings, but I can only bring these two."
wow, he's stupid

OK, people. I started this topic for 2 reasons.

1. See if anyone maybe (honestly) took the binders by mistake. and if they did, Maybe return them.

2. Warn everyone about the real possibility of theft. Especially at large-scale events.

I'm sure there's tons of people who have similar horror stories that they have either heard or experienced.

I'm really grateful to everyone's support on this issue.

Now, although my cards have never been stolen from me, my hard-earned money HAS.

With me, it is not only flustering to get your stuff stolen from you, but HUMILIATING.

At Worlds, I know most people will be good, but I swear, if I see anybody stealing ANYTHING, they will be beaten to a bloody pulp, Steve Austin-style.

pui should set up some traps...lay some stuff around, and then keep a close to constant eye on it, and see if anyone steals it...

if they report it missing, then kudos to them and perhaps a prize
if they keep it for themself, then pui should go and bar them from the tournies and tourney area

i've had 40 dollars straight up stolen out of my wallet while i left it in a locker in my pants under my bookbag at school when i was gone for only 10 minutes...i mean i knew we had thieves, but i didn't honestly think they'd move all my stuff to grab my wallet and nothing like that had happened after school...oh well I'll never do that again
the real humiliating part is, he got to see my photo id and im sure hwne he sees me he laughs =/

oh and another story...at the FAT i left my stuff on a table and stepped 2 tables down and i came back and it was gone. I went searching everywhere and told people to look with me, and then I think jake burt or someone gave me the idea to go ask the people at the head table and bam someone handed me my stuff after telling them a few cards in the deck and said MTM brought it back to make sure someone didn't steal it. I was rather relieved and thankful for MTM's cautious decision.

rofl...good thing cfk got htat pichu back, he was going insane online...and he eve ndrew a picture of it in paint or something, haha it had a few designs shown in the picture as well ;x

Hope That Your Friend Gets His Binder Back, I Remember It Was Back Around Fossil/Base Set 2 Area, And Everybody Wanted The Japanese Southern Islands Collection. Well I Got The Entire Set For My Birthday, ABout A Week Later(After Spring Break) I Went Back To School(I Was Only In Fourth Grade) And Had My Cards With Me To Show To Everybody, After I Showed My Freinds I Gave Them To My Teacher To Hold Till' After School, When He Gave Them Back And I Started To Walk Home Some Kid Who Was In Like 7th Grade Came Up, Punched Took My Bookbag With All Them Japanese Southern Islands Cards. I Was So Mad, But Never Found That Kid.

Uh that's why you don't leave your crap
lying around, because you risk it getting
stolen.

But, anyway I hope those guys get there
stuff back, that's just horrible that people
would do such a thing.

It was MY binder full of reverse holo trainers that was stolen!Playsets of holo cards like er2's, oran berries, potions, reversals, p.e.t.m.'s etc. Over 80 reverse holo trainers ( and maybe a year of collecting/purchasing them )just gone. Pretty much sucks! Be nice if someone would step up and do the right thing, but after 8 days I've pretty much lost hope.

To the theiving s.o.b. that took them remember, what comes around goes around. And do yourself a favor and NEVER let me find out who you are. What you did is the worst thing that you can do at one of these events. Be nice if someone who knows you did what you did would speak up.A lifetime ban for YOU would remove some of the sting you have left me.You ruined what was a good time at a well run event.
