So . . . does this mean everyone is now bored with Garchomp/Altaria and Hydreigon/Darkrai and ready to move on to Blastoise/Keldeo or whatever?

I hope so! Drive the prices down! The Blastoise/Keldeo combo is an obvious attention grabber but I think it is far too early to speculate too much about it. Seems doable but it would be a fun deck to play. Gives the original players some love.

Unlike the rest of you, I see outlandish potential in this set. Oh the possibility

Cresselia can be an effective tank with things like Eviolite, Pokemon Center, or Serperior or even Potion variants.

Landorus EX is the bane of Tynamo's existence. It has the ability to stop Eels decks dead in their tracks. And with all kinds of new energy accel Fighting types are due for an uprising.

Flygon can pair up with Accelgor to make a spread deck with paralysis and added damage to poison.

I see potential in Black Kyurem EX if used with Escape Rope or Vanilluxe and Fliptini, or Leaf Tailor Leavanny to get rid of Dragon Weakness. It can first turn paralyse with Ether and DCE, and search out Crystal Wall with Skyla.

Lopunny can be a good healer with Fliptini in a tank deck like Cresselia.

Town Map peaks my interest. It's like a perminent Alph Lithograph TM. I'm certainly gonna try it.

Hugh Iagree is a little strange. It reminds me of Pain Split from the video games.

FA Cheren is awesome looking. I have a similar hairstyle minus the cowlick up top.

Blastoise is the new Feraigatr. Nuff said.

Keldeo is EXcellent. Obviously pairs with Blastoise but could also work with Klinklang with Blend Energy, etc. It's Ability is pure shenanigans.

Dusknoir works swimmingly in spread decks.

Toxicroak can Revenge KO for any Energy. Sure takes Mewtwo down a peg. It's second attack is pretty cool too.
I forgot to mention Virbank Gym works well with this and Poison Point Scolipede. Man poison is getting buffed up too.

Swoobat could be a Durant alternative if paired with Gardevoir or something.

Lunatone is pure tech but works with Ether among other things.

Gotta love Scizor. Can team up with Bouffulant DB/DB and Safeguard Sigilyph to wall against EX's.

White Kyurem EX is my personal favorite in this set. Like Black Kyurem it can Ether donk for 60, 110 with Crystal Edge if you get it. There seemes to be little need for Emboar here IMO

Stoutland is interesting considering it locks Supporters in the Active spot.

Ether is self explanatory.

Skyla is an awesome. Search for Trainers is long over due and with ACE SPECs stomping the yard, that just makes her better.

Aspertia City is geared toward Colorless types. Works as a home field advantage for stuff like Bouffulant, Stoutland, Regigigas, Tornadus, etc. With FA Cheren you could make a Gym Leader deck for fun.

Bianca is just adorable. Still as useful as her younger self.

There you have it. Fox Master's take on this lovely new set. Where others see flaw I see possibility.

Thank you! I thought i was the only one to see all the crazy good combinations that can come from this set other than the Keldo/Blastoise. This set has HUGE amounts of potential.

Blastoise is the new Feraigatr. Nuff said.
There's one key difference: Blastoise lacks the water type restriction. He's compatible with things like Mewtwo EX techs, while Feraligatr wasn't. It's far, FAR more useful.

Also, venipede + virbank stadium + rocky helmet = 80 damage just for attacking the thing PLUS you can evolve into EP Whilipede on the next turn and hit for 70 for one energy. I think Scolipede Swarm might become a viable deck.

Wow I forgot about EP Whirlipede. Emerging Powers is such a negligible set. But I see what you mean. Now if they made Roxie a Suppoorter, you've got another Gym deck.

Meh, I'm halfway through page 3, and bored already. Here's my thoughts...

5 energy attack. Seriously? A 5 energy attack? With a discard? And it doesn't even OHKO an EX? Weak.

I wish Darmanitan were Psychic...

Swine Time, WTH?!? 5 flips, 40 per? Can you say power creep much?

Don't I wish Jellicent had an attack that was actually viable.

That Zebstrika must be translated wrong. Why would it search out a Fire?

Cress is teh suk.

Is there something out there that puts your own Pokemon to sleep? If so, Musharna has a place in decks. Ahhh, Munna. You have approximately an 87.5% chance of that attack hitting on the first turn, and over 90% chance every turn thereafter.

Gliscor is interesting. Is there something that increases Poison damage?

Meloetta. The poor man's Mewtwo.

Landorus EX might be useful in Klinklang. If Terrakion weren't better in every possible way.

This new Flygon is worse in every possible way than the Flygon EX Delta that they're trying to ape.

When did Bring Down stop requiring a flip? Raticate has the potential to be broken. If it didn't have 60 HP.

Audino WTH?

WARP POINT!!! Can we please rotate Catcher now?

Hugh <<< Bianca <<< N.

Ahhh, there's my Gliscor combo. Naice.

Tangrowth LOL.

Celebi EX is a cool tech card. But I'm seriously LOLing at the attack name. Really?

Blastoise. It's like Feraligatr, but better.

I wish Swanna were better...

Keldeo/Blastoise sounds like fun.

Galvantula/Eelektrik. <3<3<3

Dusknoir. What's the point?

If Psychic had a halfway decent energy accelerator (NOT GARDY!!!), then Swoobat would be uber.

I wish more Pokemon had Crustle's Ability...

I do not see the point of Ditto. Unless you can discard the Basic at will, that's just an awful card.

I Like Moar Round.

If Supporters were actually decent in this format, Stoutland would be uber.

Bicycle is still broken.

Does the text on this Comp Search replace the text on the original Comp Search? If so, BEST REPRINT EVER!!! Now, if only they could fix Item Finder and Professor Oak, and Unlimited might actually become somewhat potentially balanced.

Praying original Computer Search can be successfully used with errata...don't wanna think of its cost otherwise...

You know, if Catcher were made an Ace Spec...

Also, yay for Blastoise! And Keldeo EX makes a decent partner.

Unlike the rest of you, I see outlandish potential in this set. Oh the possibility

Cresselia can be an effective tank

The majority of us are liking the set there's only been a few who said otherwise. And Cressalia is a horrible tank in a format with mewtwo ex around.

Bullados, it searches for Fire Energy because there's an attack in the game called Flame Charge that nearly if not actualy ever in game Zebstrika runs. It raises speed, so energy acceleration is the natural reflection of that i suppose.

I also think you are undervaluing Dusknoir. He's a pretty cool guy.

Ditto will depend on multiple rulings, but it will be a useful card.

And Landorus and Terrakion are actually quite different. They play in almost no way identical to eachother, other than typing. Both have their merit.

And fianlly, I too wish Crustle's ability, as widespread as it is in the game, were on Pokemon not as Crustle and Crustle is.

Now if they made an ace spec that said
"knockout one of your opponents Pokemon if u do knock out one of your own Pokemon as well"
That would kill stage 2 decks and still be kinda not broken... Like ummm... 300HP!!!

300hp on black kyurem is not broken. you can easily 1 shot him with garchomp and plus the card sucks all together making it not broken. In fact it makes black kyurem more useable but by not a lot.

You happen to be part of those who say otherwise. You run Toxicroak with Cresselia and Royal Heal Serperior as well as Lunatone/Ether for Energy Accel and Potion variants for further healing. Also include Eviolite to tank even further. Plus this deck could itself run Mewtwo.
Not to mention Pokemon Center.

On the topic of Cress EX: Even if it DID counter a Mewtwo and leave itself with no weakness, you would need to attack with it for the rest of the game in order for it to have no weakness. If you ever benched it (or prepared another one on the bench), Mewtwo can catcher KO it. Even then, the double Catcher play is still threatening. Just stick with Mewtwo or Sigilyph.

Bicycle: Bicycle is good but it's not even close to being able to go through hands like Uxie allowed us to. If you already played your supporter for the turn, I don't think you're gonna see many power plays off of a Bicycle. It's good but I think 4 card hands is balanced enough. Plus, the chances of drawing back to back Bicycles off of 1 - 4 cards are pretty slim.

Also, venipede + virbank stadium + rocky helmet = 80 damage just for attacking the thing PLUS you can evolve into EP Whilipede on the next turn and hit for 70 for one energy. I think Scolipede Swarm might become a viable deck.

Whirlipede, a useful stage 1... I think Celebi EX's first use was just discovered ;)

The basic reason that Bicycle is broken?

All of the best cards in the perceived format can basically be used immediately, and some can discard from your hand. So it's not going to be terribly difficult to dump your hand down to 1-3 cards, refresh, then possibly June or something like that to keep the cycle going.

Having Trainer based straight draw is something that we haven't had since the Gym Challenge days (IIRC). It was broken back then, and it'll be broken now.

...actually, you might be onto something. Going from EP Whilipede to this Scolipede would give you a 150 HP Pokemon who poisons anything that attacks it AND can still attack for 70 after a Max Potion. Maybe toss in a few Amoongus and devolution spray in case they try to get out of it by not attacking...

Dear lord, it's the tank from hell.

Dear lord, help us all.

Don't forget rocky helmet.

So the female Frillish and Jellicent are shoved into the background of the artwork for the third consecutive time? And they happen to use the male Unfezant, too?

Japan is really showing their love for the female gender. :p

P.S. The amount of chase cards (including ACE SPECs here) in this set is gross and annoying. Yes, I know I'm alone in thinking this.

Thirty seconds of effort gave me this theorymon. Probably needs more draw support and less other stuff but meh.
