Pokemon.com has revealed the Arceus event dates for American Pokémon players. The event will take place November 7 through the 15 at Toys 'R' Us stores in the United States and Puerto Rico.
The event will be distributed via Mystery Gift to players of Diamond, Pearl, AND Platinum.

Arceus, the 493rd Pokémon, is a Normal-type legendary Pokémon. It is the final Pokémon in the National Pokédex for the DS games. August 3rd, they revealed this Pokémon, but this is the first time it has become available for Pokémon players.

Caught: Cherish Ball
Item: Rowap Berry
Attacks: Judgement, Roar of Time, Spacial Rend, Shadow Force
Level: 100
Ribbons: Classic Ribbon

This Arceus will also activate an in-game event in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, where the arceus will reward you with your choice of either Dialgia, Palkia, or Giritina at Level 1 with the corresponding orb (Adamant Orb, Griseous Orb, Lustrous Orb)

Wonder why they're going back to in-store events.

This event seems very limited. Not like every trainer out there lives near a store. And it's apparently only available in the US and Puerto Rico. Very different from the previous few events that allowed trainers in North America and Europe to participate through downloading over Wi-Fi Mystery Gift. This setting is definitely in Diamond and Pearl, and yet, it's never been used. Only for Platinum. Who knows, maybe they have technical issues. I know that there are lots without the ability to connect to the Nintendo WFC, but I think that those that can connect outnumber those who can make it to Toys R Us. Meh, who knows, maybe they'll have more information up once it's on Pokemon.com and PokemonPlatinum.com.

I'm guessing that this event is just so that Diamond and Pearl players who never got Platinum players don't get left behind. This seems nicely timed with the release of the Arceus TCG expansion. I can imagine that they'll do another Platinum-only Arceus event when the movie comes out...

Heheh, couldn't resist. Anyway, I really hope this doesn't mean the absence of (a legitimate way of obtaining) Arceus' event in the US versions of Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. It's the most epic of all of the legendary events in the games. Simply receiving it from Toys 'R' Us seems like a rip-off. For the sake of convenience for D&P owners, I can understand, but I really do hope we receive the event.

Then again, they did the same thing to Shaymin, so I might be jumping the gun.
 
Why is nintendo so dumb???? America and Puerto Rico .... I mean I am sure the Puertoricans are super happy but what a random choice. Making in game events that people never get to access is retarded. I never got to catch the Regis in Platinum and now I wont get to unlock this event in HG SS or I will have to trade an arm and a limb just to be able to do it???

How ridiculous Puerto Rica is getting these and not places closer to the USA with Toys R us :/

Well, Puerto Rico is a US territory. There are other US territories, but Puerto Rico has been included in other Toys R Us promotions in the past, so it isn't so "random".
 
I'm really surprised that some of you can be surprised about any part of this announcement. Movie event Pokemon are always first released in stores exclusively, and then possibly through wi-fi events later. Also, US is always the second country in the world (after Japan) to get these event Pokemon, and then other countries follow later. Also, about any marketing campaign aimed at the US will also be run in Puerto Rico, and the company running it will very often specify "AND Puerto Rico".
 
I hope my TRU does not lie to me this time around during the Shaymin event one they told me they were not doing it and after it was over I found out they did not it they just told people that called to check that they were not doing it

After that event they stop doing any more events

Event pokemon almost always go Japan, then USA, europe, then other countrys.

I have mixed feelings for Arceus. It comes at level 100, so it cannot be EV trained (as it cannot gain levels) but it does get me an exclusive pokemon when HeartGold and SoulSilver come out. Goin' for giritina 1st (so i can have origin form) then the other two.

Over all, a balanced release, much like Regigigas. Not "Awesome" in any way, but unlocks some nice pokemon that where otherwise unobtainable in that game.
 
Pokemon doesnt release every event everywhere though. Yes Arceus will most likely be obtainable everywhere but not this Arceus that allows one to get a level 1 Dialga Palkia or Girantina it is the same as the Regigas that unlocked the Regis in platinum it was never received by Canadians. Also why Puerto Rico can anyone explain this more?

It does. The problem is that this arceus is already lv. 100, and lv. 100s do not gain EV's even if they have not yet received the 510 maximum total. The only way to give it any EV's is with the EV vitamins. But you can only get in a maximum of 100 EV's for a stat, so you're a bit limited.

However, let's note, that when Canada for example get's it, we will not get our Arceus knowing the Moves, Roar of Time, Spacial Rend and Shadow Force. It will not have the Rowap Berry, it will not be at Lv.100 and it will most certainly not be in a Cherish Ball. How is this the same Arceus?

Oh and Toxicroak, the event Arceus from Platinum it self will trigger the HGSS event, as I believe it has the "Fateful Encounter" flag, which Shaymin from Platinum has as well.
 
Hmm we will see anyways through emails to TPCI I have found out that it is not them at fault but Toys R us itself. Every opportunity to have an event has been presented to Toys R Us Canada but they have choosen to not participate
 
Dexter I talked to Mike at Worlds and he said we should be getting them. Im going to go to Toys r us and talk them into getting Arceus.

I dont have a promblem with this...its event thats special..just like all othere events there special and limited to people who can go to the event..if everyone can get a special pokemon it wouldnt be special.
 
Hey pokemonrocks777 I just called Toys r' Us here in Lubbock, and they said there's no Arceus event there? Can you confirm?
 
Do I have to have the National Dex in order to get Arceus? I might be able to get to a Toys R Us in the next couple days, but I don't want to waste my time.
