Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Ariados+Masquerain= new deck?

5+4=9 Retreat Cost+Ariados
9+4=13 Total+Ariados
13+5=18 Total+Pluspower/Strenght Charm
18x2=36 TotalxAttack Damage per 1 [C] Retreat Cost

36x2=72 Weakness
72x10=720
Bolded steps are in the wrong order. You can't add in the PlusPowers and THEN multiply by 2 like they're adding to the retreat cost. Actual total damage is 620.

I made a deck like this 2 seasons ago w/ Dark Ariados and Wobby LM. it worked b/c it could snipe the bench and since wobby was basic you could mentor for the whole wobby line. This deck is a slower version of that and it won't work because it is just too hard to set up enough ariados to do decent damage fast enough.

2 seasons? You mean 2 months ago?

i don't think lati will be that popular, with ex's becoming an increasing rareity in decks, ice barrier becomes less useful, and that's what made you deck so good (i got 3rd at eng nats with lati)

this could be a good deck, the problem is 70 hp for mascerain

the outher problem is things like mesprit's/latios ex's body

Latios EX is being played? Yes, please! Masquerian's second attack LOVES to have those kind of match-ups.

Speed and Consistancy are indeed issues with this though. At least Kricketune is consistant... But then again, this deck is a heck of a lot more disruptive. If the deck can get out fast enough, then low HP isn't game losing. Heck, it seems like it'd have an easier time late game then Kricketune, because it's able to pull anyone up with Surskit then nail 'em (unless the opponent top decks a switch or Warp point). Not to mention that you deal more damage then Kricketune can. ((Feraligatr, Electivire, and Magmortar decks are definitely going to at least be experimented with, and they all have rediculous retreat costs...))

Now speed... Hm. You do have Quick Ball and Dual Ball to fill out the bench... You're going to have to rely on Supporters for draw power, as none of the pokemon have drawing powers, and you don't have empty bench space.

Meh, sounds about as feasible as anything else, with us knowing so much about the current metagame.

EDIT: This is quite late, but....

and we just lost LPS too...
*sigh*

We actually didn't. Unless Pop3 randomly rotated out, we still have Low Pressure System. Check out the card Scans here~

Doesn't this get destroyed by Infernape? Or any High-HP non ex for that matter? Getting 4 ariados set up IS a tad bit difficult... out of 8 pokemon, at LEAST one will be prized fairly often.

Dusknoir mauls this rofl
