Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

BeNeLux Cup [update!]

Possible yes, but I would not recomend such manipulation.
But that's my opinion.

There are many other ways to run a tournament and let indeed the BE players face each round a NL player.
This is not a country versus country tournament.

I'm not stopping you to organize one yourself, and we're not forcing anyone to participate.

Constructive criticism is always welcome, but saying "it could be done better" doesn't help much.

WE are not only saying "it could done better"
We gave a few examples how a Country vs Country tournament could be done.
We asked what the reason was for this tournament and there was said to see which country has the most/best players.
And sorry you cannot be serious talking about that, if you do a tournament were a Dutch player plays another Dutch Player. That way you are KO your own country and pull their results down.

I will quote from a topic on a Dutch MB were suggestion were made, to make it a real Country vs Country tournament.
Jann, you can read it yourself, you are member of that board, but I will quote it here so you can see it and think about it.

But any option there is, will and cannot be a sanctioned tournament and that's the problem as it looks now.

I would say enough constructive things in those options.

Once again
That is correct, the Swiss part only matters to select the top players per country - hence the 2 out of 3 instead of single game matches. Since there are 3 age groups and no ties in the finals we should always have a clear winner.
NO way you will have the TOP players of each country selected this way.
I you want that you should play against your own countries players without any influence of the other country its'players.
What I see is a game apple versus pears, to determinate who is the best banana.

But no problem, we only made suggestions.
I just like to know the prizes (how many boosters) for the winners in top 4.
Meaby you can answer that, because from our OP Manager a player heared that it's none of the players business to know what he/she can earn.

The reason the tournament was created is because Nationals are now closed, where both countries had many players in eachother's Nationals last year and we wanted to create an event to replace that.

Your suggestion of having Belgians play only Belgians and Dutch vs Dutch and then play the final can be done after both Nationals are finished, and pairing up the winners in a seperate event - but that is not the point of this tournament.
This is a tournament where you have to prove yourself vs the best players either country has to offer - and only the best from each country advance. It is not a race for top 8, it's a race for top of your country.

As I've said before, we have to work within the restraints of TOM if we want to keep the tournament running smoothly, which limites our options for other formats - especially since we want to keep it sanctioned, preventing most of the other suggestions you made here.

Sanctioning is the point, not running smoothly.
There are several experienced TO's in both Belgium and the Netherlands, who can run tournaments manuel (incl calculating tie breaks) and run them even faster than TOM can.

But anyways good luck with the tournament.

It was a fun tournament, but major slops to playing only 4 rounds with about 30 people in 15+ and 11-14. And it would be more fun to play vs belgian people in such a tournament too btw, I think I played only 1 belgian player, that was one of the best matches I played in a while.

It was a lot of fun begin there though, props to PS games and intrafin for organising such a tournament, I hope we'll have another Benelux cup next year.

Actually, you can say better...team torchic won =(

It was nice to play some good games versus good players, making top 8, pulling an Armaldo EX out of two prize boosters, seeing and talking with Jann and such...but...

I am SO retreating from everyday life and gonna live in a cave for a few years now to learn to cope with this abysmal defeat =(

yeah, playing Belgian people was definitely the best part about this tournament, since I've played most of the Dutch players who were there loads of times before :p

I really enjoyed the day (not just cos of our wins ^^) and I hope we can have an event like this next year as well, hopefully with the right number of rounds, and with more BE v NL games!

Get me a better TOM system and I'll happily make every round BE vs NL. Any suggestions for pairings that keep the tournament sanctioned are always welcome =)

Belgian kid you're missing in the 10- is Sebastian S.

Congratulations to my Oranje friends

It was a nice event, and I hope we'll do other tournaments like this in the future.

Thanks to Intrafin and PS Games :thumb:

Belgium has lost. I don't care, we'll win our National
