Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Can ape make a comeback ?

1-0-1 Infernape (new one) with Scramble and a PP or SC would be a nice tech for 120+ dmg.

lol, I have been thinking about playing a "new" Infernape deck for the metagame. I think a quick t-2 80-90 is with a decent HP will work well against Blissey. IDK why I fear Blissey so much.....lol, thanks for making it broken and making everyone want to play it.
The sad part is, Blissey isn't a deck....Blissey is the metagame!!!

Depends on the meta. Empoleon was EVERYWHERE in the CC I went to yestereday ... that would have been tough. But it could have done much better at the one I went to before that.

I think any good card can be of use as long as it's legal. But I don't know how much of an use is Infernape. Infernape hits hard for 80-90, but that 80-90 won't KO the 130HP pokemon that are popular like Blissey, Gallade, Empoleon, etc. Until a consistent engine comes out, I don't see Infernape coming back and doing really well. But I can see it doing well as long as it's legal because it is a good card.

Nobody in my meta plays Water type, but I still think it is not a very good card. Seriously, a stage 2 with 100 HP? It is highly reliant on Poke-Powers when played with Delcatty (the only way it really should be played). It gets owned by Crystal Bach, I play that. Just not a good choice if you want my honest opinion.

Is it fire energy? Fire energy CARDS? From infernape? From your hand?

If it's fire energy then that can be pretty ridiculous. The pokemon you're describing is technically a buffed version of infernape. Infernape as it is is RR for 90. This new one is also RR for 80, with the capability of discarding more for more damage. Discard a scramble and do 120.

Infernape L.46 – Fire – HP110

[C] Mach Punch: 30 damage. This attack also does 10 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon.
[R] Mega Bravo: Discard all Fire Energy attached to Infernape, then do 40 damage x the number of Energy you discarded.

I'm betting that it's fire energy cards, but we will have to see. The extra HP also make a bit of a difference. This Ape can use Holon FF better than the other one can as well IMHO.

If it's energy cards then this guy won't help Ape out at all. If it's energy then you still need to put in scrambles to the deck to really benefit from the change. Otherwise you're still behind. A DRE on the new ape would only do 70, instead of 80 on a normal ape. But at least with a scramble you could swing for 120. Add a PP or charm and you hit the golden 130.

That's two energy attachments for 80, while the current ape either does 2 attachments for 90 or one (DRE) for 80. Sure, it has 10 less HP, but that speed is why Ape was so good.

Vergel's right the only reason Infernape won was because of how fast it could come out and do ninety consecutively. Then late game is smacks for 150. Delcatty was a main source of draw. Personally I know to many players that run Battle Frontier to even try an Infernape deck again. I dont think the new one will really make a difference. Gallade hits for more damage and It's counter part gardevoir isn't shut down by battle frontier. Cess Crystal runs rampant in a few decks and empoleon is also on the rise because of magmorter. We've seen infernape lose to Empoleon once, what makes you think it will win this time?

Well the new Ape will bring a resurgence in the 1-0-1 Typhlo tech.
DRE+Typhlo=110 damage.
OR Typhlo line could be even greater. It's just like Quazza ex from ex: Dragon cept in Stage 2 form, but still really good.

Hey Adam how did Kettler do with it?

And Infernacatty is good, bottom line. Not awesome, but playable. It was rampant in the BR I won in SAtown. I had a GREAT metagame choice, playin Empoleon cause 2 of the top 4 was Infernacatty and I played it like twice in swiss.
