Well, this year about 75% of the field wasn't USA. ;p

Props to canada (lolll i love canada), but masters was a joke this year, =( Where's GORDON COATES?!?!?

Are you calling me a joke Jeremy =(

Getting donked hard hurts =/

and it really sucks that the 2 best players in Canada, Joner and Gordon, didn't get to play in this years worlds. I'm sure if they were there, not all 3 of us would of gotten donked as hard as I did.

Why would you have done better if they were there? I don't get it? I know joner took the year off but obviously the other was not capable of winning a trip correct? And to say you lost because they were not there is absolutely nonsense.:nonono:

You all have to seriously give yourselves a head shake as obviously those who did not make it were obviously not good enough to do so.:thumb: And to listen to "well USA " is better ..."no Canada is better" geeezzzz I expect that stuff from my son when he was 6 - 8 yrs old! Grow up!

I seriously see now need for this to even be open anymore.........

I never said my luck would have been any different. I said odds of ALL 3 of us getting terrible luck is obviously alot lower than the odds of only me getting terrible luck, hence a better performance for Canadian masters overall.

i'm obviously not going to go through and read all the posts i've missed, but i doubt anyone said that invites should be taken away from international players. denmark and finland top 2'd masters, they should at least continue to get invites.

but do increase the amount of invites the united states gets. if you're complaining that this would put too many american players against international players, then the international players aren't good enough to compete. if you want to win worlds, you have to beat the best in the world.

okay woah, this thread is about how Canadians did well, not excuses from us masters as to why we sucked.

look, ovbiously the luck factor played a big roll at world, but didn't mean it only happened to us Canadians, it happens to the best of players. Look at Jimmy Ballard 0-3 drop.

Yeah i too got donked t2 as well by weakness, and also got bad hands, even ryperior'd two of my cessations t3 one round. Bidier can tell you the same by only having squirtles with no blastiose nor scizor.

You shouldn't be complaining, you played lucario in hopes to even t1 DONKS, but as luck have you, you get donked yourself.

having Gordon, Greg, Joner and/or any other "better" Canadian than me and Bidier doesn't help anyone. The luck was cursed for all Canadians at worlds as even Greg and Gordon didn't do so well in the grinders, being "donked" by the metagame.

It doesn't take a name to be victorious, look at a fellow Canadian from Vancouver Named Malcolm, who went 4-2 in grinders and has only been playing the game for two weeks.

What does that say about us then? OR should i say you because i'm not "worthy" to be a worlds player. Worlds is over, the new season's starting show the world again why you deserve to be at Orlando next year.

I played Lucario/Eeveelutions because of the 75-25 matchup I had vs Standard Spread and the 75-25 to 80-20 matchup against R-gon (which DID turn out to be the most popular decks). I don't expect to win t1 unlike people who play bad "decks" like Mario.

c'mon man give it a rest already, you've accomplished something that a lot of people dream of doing their first year. It's not like everyone's looking at YOU as to why Canadian masters sucked so much.

This thread is about how Canadian CAN do well and can prove that us CANADIAN can do it again next year.

So stop sour graping about yesterday, and plan to be the best again next year.

p.s. Mario is a deck, hence lucario being one of the most popular card.
Also by winning 3rd in juniors without donking a single person NOT only does it make a deck, it makes it a WORLDS deck.

Lol Mike..those who didn't make it weren't good enough? That's very ignorant, because I guarantee if we do this season 10 times over, we'll see different faces receive invites every time we do it.

We're not arguing US vs Canada, we're arguing that the US needs more invites. And it DOES.

Awww i love being left out of this </3
This year was all about luck to get into worlds, and doing well at worlds
and a little bit of skill ofcourse ;)
You cant deny it.
-Jimmy 0-3 drop? Unlikely
-5 t1 wins in grinder, as cool as that sounds, rocketman had to flip 5 lucky heads :)
-Kant 2-4? I hoped he would T16
-Me, Gordon, Greg and who else i havent mentioned not making it even we have beenplaying this game for X amount of years?
-Jeremy Maron NOT t4'ing again(the curse of luck has been broken :X) ;)

Mario IS a good deck for Junior and senior(maybe)
Dont expect wins with it in MA, unless your a super donk or something

the list could keep on going...

luck, luck, LUCK

Everyone thought i "LUCKED"sac Canadian Nationals, but again only three out of the hundred came to laugh in my face, but walked away with apologizes. I was lucky to get into top 16, not cutting any 5-2 records by resistance, but is it luck when i won 2-0 in T16, T8, T4, and finals, never being called on time? i was at finals because i too have a "little" bit of skill.

Playing X amount of years doesn't make you a "high caliber" player, what about all those who've been playing for over 5 years and not once won a championship, not going to worlds at least once. It's easy to look down at someone who's lower than you, but for the people who "luckedsac" their way to championships and are "lower" than you, you still can't help it but look down. Like i said before, Luck didn't go so well for Gordon and Greg in the grinders, and also luck was against Bidier, Kant AND me. So obviously this game is a game of luck.

With all these decks, Speed Spread, Empoleon, Mario/Lurcario, and Infercatty, obviously world's metagame was almost all about t1-t2s, fast damage and DONKS. It's hard to show skills when the match is already over after t5.

How about this season we look at all Battle Road, City, Provincal, Regional, and National champions as lucky n00bs who don't know how to play the game, unless of course it's one of your high class caliber friends.

P.S. it was unlikely, but it did happen, Jimmy did go 0-3, due to luck. Trust me i talked to him MYSELF. He was one of the hundred who didn't laugh, but immediately offered respects FOR my Golem/Exploud EX for making a counter to World's metagame.

I know playing X amount of years doesnt make you a high caliber player... I didnt say that or even imply that...

Worlds metagame...
Speed Spread-yes
Empoleon-sorta
Mario-no
Infernape-sorta

Yah thats about all ill say, I don't like to cause trouble, unlike you ;/
I still wont forget the stuff you wrote about me when you won and posted it on Pokegym
I really do not like you at all.
Are you pro luck or con luck in the end?

Win some tournaments this year and maybe i'll reconsider you, but as of now... yah ;/

I don't care what people say. Every year is "all about luck." That's just the plain truth. This game is filled with luck. It's oozing with luck. Every win at every tournament is controlled and driving by luck. Every champion had it, and every loser didn't have as much.

To not give the people that did well this year credit because you feel this year was all about luck is just plain wrong imho. The people that got to Worlds this year worked to get to worlds. They deserve as much credit for getting there than anyone else who has made it to worlds before. Heck, I'd say they deserve even more credit since it was harder this year to get to Worlds.

No we're not arguing that at all - IF we want to stay on topic of course! If you want to argue that, go make your own thread. :thumb:

It's nice that Canadians did so well, but even those who didn't are still winners in my book. All the participants are. They did something that most of the pokemon playing population couldn't do - get invited to the best party possible for pokemon. Whether they did well there, or didn't do well there, as long as they did the best they could with the circumstances available, I'm sure the experience will stay with them for the rest of their lives. In the meantime, we're just starting a new tournament season. Let's all try our best to get to the big show this year. Whining about our lot will never get us there, but hard work will. How badly do you want to be there? Ok, ................

 Prove it!

Grinders = table 1-16 (32 players, Grinders was predictions for world's metagame)

Speed Spread, Infercatty, Lurcarilutions

Worlds - all the Japanese played Empoleon, Infernape and Mario was the predicted bet and everyone feared t1 donks because of them.

I don't expect you to like me or to forget anything i say. Remember it, use it against me, everytime i slip i'll expect you to be the first to laugh. I respect everyone who supports everyone, even the weak.

You can't side luck nor can you control it, what happens is what happens.

Also, i don't need nor want you to "reconsider" me, i already have friends that will support me win or LOSE, i don't need friends that only care if i win.

Who's side are you on, luck or reputation?

I really don't care you have friends =/ thoguh matt is a cool one though
I always go by this...
If you don't go home a winner, your not gettin' dinner

Then maybe you should switch TCGs, from what I'VE learned from all my pokemon friends is that this is a game of fun, not winning, and if you're winning it's one more thing to celerbrate with everyone else, not just a dinner for one.

QFT. Truths people often forget, especially in that first part.

Well I am sorry if it seemed ignorant but it gets tiring hearing all these "elite" players  whining like 6 yr olds who say they should have been invited to worlds ! It is a game that anyone can win even if it is a luck sack win, it is still a win. I will say everyone from every country should get the same oppurtunity to have the chance to win a trip and not because you are good and "think" you should have been invited. Win's are wins plain and simple and if you don't win there is always next year.
