Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Cards that gain/lose strength in EX-on format

Most importantly, Blaziken loses some key components:Ninetails, Ampharos, and Exeggutor
Ampharos is leaving, but they're coming out with an even easier card to use to do the same thing, Aqua's Manectric, only a Stage 1.

As for Ninetales and Exeggutor, just play Rex, geez

see this is why Absol messes with BR decks, and other Delcatty decks... They will rely on drawing heavily..You save that Absol til they have 10+ cards in hand, which wont at all be hard to do usually, unless opponent is extremely lucky. Knocking out half there hand, or more will be a sinch... hopefully hitting Blazes or Candies, the L energy, or other important cards (and hopefully leaving R outta discard...)

I personally think water actually looses ground with Fires populariy, now that is just plain weird....

Why... it looses Crystal Shard... and Ray EX chews it up and and spits out all water. Any water deck will have to find new tech with Shard going byebye....

A boosted Delcatty will take care of Ray.

[EDIT: Doh! Boost is going too, isn't it.]

I rather call the new modified Nin-On because it means all nintendo sets and on. BAR won't lose much pokemon wise, other than the ampharos line which will be easily filled by aqua's manectric which is so much better tham ampharos.

Just wondering, does anyone think Magma's Claydol could do the job as well as Aqua's Manectric, if he was translated the same way?

Manectric is lightning type, so he fits with Raq better if that's what you're asking.

Blaziken really doesnt lose too much, considering it will gain TA's Manectric and Blaziken Ex.
I mean Blaziken EX, if its released as it sounds will basically dominate anything, unless of course u dont let it get up or u have like a kingdra ex loaded ready for it, but the odds are if Blaziken EX is out and loaded its gg.

absol is better than skarmory, metagame reasons, plus discarding will be crucial without the exp, aq and sk. Plus there isnt really any serious fighting pokemon that are decent yet.

And dont get your hopes up, Nintendo/Rs-On isnt even a format yet.

As far as Pokemon, BAR stays strong, but it looses speed. The ability to Oracle/Catty being gone slows it some, and barring luck, enough...

Why all the hype over Dragons Absol and Skarmory anyway? POR is coming back! At least Nick15 said so. And when Nick15 says something, you can put it in an envelope, lick it and stick it, and send in to the IRS. You can wrap it in pretty paper and a bow and give it to your momma. You can bet one hundred iron men, smackarooneys, bucks, greenback, George Washintons, whatever you want to call it, because Nick15 stands behind every single word he has said, is saying now at 12:12 am, and ever will say, because Nick15 is the man. The big enchilada, and holy guacamole, the main man, the head honcho, and supreme ruler, and big daddyo, and one, the only, the...

What was I talking about?

Oh yeah, Dragons Absol and Skar. They won't be so tough, Spec. Nick15 has said that POR is being rereleased by Nintendo sometime soon. Next set, I think he said. In the set after ADV4, which was AVM, so yeah, next set. Solved Seal, Flight of the Legends, something like that.

Not quite...

ADV4 =/= Magma vs. Aqua

TMvTA was "EX1", the next set is actually ADV4, the set after ADV4 is the set based off of Fire Red/Leaf Green I believe... So, don't expect POR to be re-released until at least after Nationals.

just the fact that we get POR back should be enough for celebration (pops a bottle of champaign).

Anyhoo, Absol does become more powerful, even with POR in the format, because POR is the only hand changing Trainer in the format thus far. All the other Trainers and card drawers are straight draw, no hand change, so hands will be substantially larger than they are ini Eon, making Absol and Skarmory more powerful.

So we may/may not get a block without POR... depending on its release (if/when)... but yeah, that still drops out Shaman and Copycat... so Absol looses a little ground, but gained alot more... Delcatty players will have to use their PORs wisely, keeping hands down more than for brute shuffle draw... but as we see more cards like Elm of old, POR, Cat and Shaman, then Absol Skarms loose more ground... they are still great cards, and if we get a length of time without these cards, they are still power houses...

But cool if we get POR back... I'd personally prefer Shaman though...
