No one forces league players to play in league tourenys, heck, we haven't even done one at my league since cities iirc.

No one forces your store to have a league, either.

It's a mutual benefit situation. The store gets new customers who come in regularly and will need supplies fairly often that the store can provide. The players get an environment to practice and play.

The cards were not supposed to be "placed near a showcase," they were supposed to be watched. There is no reason why store credit would be given out if they did not feel at least partially responsible.

Collector's Cache: My father called you, not me. You know this because he told you. There were no "jokes" involved.

Chairman: You will be seeing me this weekend, because I will be at Collector's Cache to discuss what happened. My dad will be with me, and the many people who witnessed this.

Perfect example of how their league regulars are being treated lately.

To troll? You registered today and have 7 total posts; 6 are in this thread. lrn2sockpuppet kthxbai.

I don't know, he's not actually trolling, so it wouldn't make sense for the account to be a sockpuppet. I mean, if this was a sockpuppet account, why wouldn't he just post on his/her regular account? Doesn't make sense :pP

Nothing seems to be getting accomplished by this argument though, that's for sure.

No, but libel is.

libel (as you can see from the 1st few words if you clicked this link) has malicious intent and is a false statement. This thread has neither. It was not embelished either it is just stating the facts.

To troll?
In answer to the "To troll?": InoceNt is not trolling he is stating the obvious facts from his prospective as a league member. And just because the person in question doesn't have very many posts does not make him a troll. Perhaps he is from CC league and veiws the 'Gym regularly and decided he should share what he knows by making an account.

And finally do you have any first hand information? To my knowledge you don't (please correct me if I'm wrong) and if I was right why do you feel the need to 'how did you put it?' "Have a long one sided discousion about the fallout from this thread" with some of your players?

This has gone way too far in my opinion. I just want this issue to be forgotten.

I agree. This definitely should not have been escalated to the creation of this thread, especially if this is true:

after explaining to him that this was not our fault, we told him that since they were good customers, we would offer to give them $25.00 store credit to help remedy the situation. We specifically asked him, will this make you happy, and he said YES!

When you settle a dispute like this, there is an implied covenant of good faith. To tell someone the issue is settled, and accept money in settlement, and then later renege on that settlement, is very bad faith dealing.

The store owner is right to be absolutely livid about this, and OP deserves whatever comes out of that.

Perfect example of how their league regulars are being treated lately.

To be fair, you haven't exactly been regular lately.

And if there are all these issues with league, why am I not hearing about them? Just because I'm across the room helping with the WoW players doesn't mean I quit caring about the Pokemon players.

Of all the ways to deal with this, venting on a public forum has to be one of the absolute worst choices.

I don't know, he's not actually trolling, so it wouldn't make sense for the account to be a sockpuppet.

You have to grant me that it looks very much like a single-purpose account at first glance.

Maybe it's not after all, but it's incredibly suspicious.

My discussion is not about the initial incident. My discussion is about why you don't deal with this on a public forum.

I have been a customer of Collectors Cache for many years. I can't count the number of times I have called them or sent an order ( and said I need it in two days for a tournament!) and they have ALWAYS HELPED ME OUT!

I needed some cards really fast for States a few weeks ago. They didn't have them in stock, so they opened boxes until they got the cards I needed. I don't know many companies that would have done that for us! My son won the State Tournament thanks to their help!

I know no person or company is perfect, but these guys have been a life saver for us many many times.
I hope people also take my experience dealing with them when they are thinking about purchasing cards!

Thanks for all of your help,

Ken Cross

^ Ehh, guess it is a bit suspicious. But even if it is a sockpuppet, he's not doing nything wrong, so does it really matter?

OK. My words can't describe my amount of hatred for this. Collectors Cache, you should all be ashamed, consider the following scenario below:

Your running league, and leave the counter for a while, and somebody decides to ninja and steal all your binders. Then, sell for a huge profit, like 1000$. You'd be going APE over how much cash you just lost, considering you could've made a far more beneficial sale. And this "thief" is now gunna jack your cards every week. You just keep getting robbed.

Now I don't go to this league, but I have friends who do, and when this was brought to my attention, its just sad. All your players are not only going to be furious with your business, but they're also going to lose they're respect for you, the owner. Quit while your ahead :/

So stealing cards is good dealing in your opinion?

We tried talking to Cache but they gave us the cold shoulder and this seems like the best choice at this point to get this resolved.

My discussion is not about the initial incident. My discussion is about why you don't deal with this on a public forum.

You said that it was a bad idea to post this on a public forum because of libel but how would you know if it was libel because you have no first hand information.

@Stephen, I know you're trying to defend Charlene but it's between the store, Jack, Jared, and her, not you. I think they can settle this themselves.

Okay, I was really hoping you wouldn't go there, but fine, if that's how you want to play it, Jared. I've heard the whole story now directly from the person whose cards were involved.

She specifically asked you not to post this on the Gym. I know she asked this because I was with her Sunday night and I saw the text messages. You guys did it anyway.

It seems to me that you're the last person that should be making any comment in this thread, since you were responsible for the cards winding up in the store's hands in the first place. Stupid joke gone wrong? Probably. And then to try to cover it with a thread like this (and getting your brother to do it for you on top of that) is beyond stupid.

There is a line and you guys are way, way past it. You need a shovel to find my respect for you at the moment.

We tried talking to Cache but they gave us the cold shoulder and this seems like the best choice at this point to get this resolved.

So they didn't give you guys $25 to settle the issue? That seems like the exact opposite of the cold shoulder.

And why are you even involved in this? They weren't even your cards. Why is the store paying you for a mistake that happened to someone else?

@Stephen, I know you're trying to defend Charlene but it's between the store, Jack, Jared, and her, not you.

That was true, until they decided to air it all out here (and against her wishes, I'll reiterate). She wanted it to die but Jack decided to dredge it up again. Now everyone's involved.

This is why you don't do this here.

Still don't get how this is a joke. You support Cache because you are there 3-4 times a week. And I posted this of my own free will. Jared was just as involved in the whole business as I was. You still were not there for any of it. Evidently, you were misinformed.

I think the reason they are involved is because Charlene wanted the money to pay for the smeargles from the Lange family.

When she could have walked ten feet to get them back. And then Cache sold them lol. I'm definitely not feeling too guilty right now.

I think there needs to be one story, set in stone, that everyone agrees on.

I've gotten like 3 sides of this story. WHAT IS IT?

Once they brought it onto a public forum. they can't claim privacy.

Jacob, we asked the guy if he would be happy with $25.00 store credit to make up for his supposed loss and he said YES. Your post implies that we did nothing for him nor were willing to help. By the way, it turns out that the 4 cards that came up missing didn't even belong to Omastar!

Anyways, we want to thank everyone who has stood up for us in this thread. We have always believed in fairness, doing what is right, and the golden rule. Over the years, we have solved many theft cases where we gave countless hours of our time to help victims recover their cards back, we have found hundreds of decks that were left in our store and returned them to their rightful owners, and so one...all at no charge. We consistently work hard everyday to do our best to keep everyone happy. Unfortunately doing our best doesn't always please everyone. Thanks again to all our fans & God Bless!
