DP ~ This is not the place for that post. Please PM your game moderator for those notices or post in the game thread.
Normal Guy ~ Thanks for your enthusiasm. At a minimum, we ask that before you start the moderation process you play at least two games here on the Gym, and have some other experience playing Werewolf. Additionally, it is asked that you go back and read some if not all of the previous games to get a handle on how the metagame has changed over time, as well as look at roles and mechanics that have previously been used. This will allow for a more unbiased approach to setting out the game design.
Of deep note is the game balance, something that can be very easy to mess up. It is always exciting to throw in cool roles that do really cool things. The problem with that is the ease at which they can completely overbalance one faction versus another.
As such, reading through the previous WW games, (as well as the Pre-XVII Metagame Analysis Thread/WMAT, which is linked in my signature and in the Original Post [OP]), is a necessity.
There will be other criteria before becoming a moderator/narrator, which will be elaborated upon once they are solidified.
For both you and Vablakes, you will be given a shot at becoming a moderator, it will just take some time.
At this point, there are still three games that are planned before you guys would get a chance, and there are two other members who have requested to be considered before you two have.
Thus, deference will be given to those members ahead of you two in line. It may take a couple years, based on the length of time common to Gym games, to have some resolution to your questions, but I feel that this will be a great way to keep the ideas you have balanced, fair, and fun for everyone. If you've got that much time to work on your game, I have no doubts that you will come into your own and create a great experience for everyone.
If you want a preliminary perusal of your game idea, feel free to PM me and I'll look at your game. I can help give you some guidance as to balance and give you a head-start in the restructuring of your games. This is no way jumps you ahead of other members, but is just a small taste of what moderation can entail, which you may experience a while down the road.
