Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Could Banette be the end of lucario?

Banette Lucario is like the deck from worlds this past summer who won in the 11-14 division(yea they have interesting decks and great skill)

I mean you cover your weakness and you still have speed in the deck. Either a T2 Ghost head or Wild Kicking early. I mean it works better than BANG does.

Speed Ban tho is the fastest cause I mean your guaranteed T2 Ghost head. Easy to setup a another Banette. Also more techable.

What pokemon does Speed Ban consist of?

IDK atm, but last year: (I'm pretty confident I invented this, as I played it the day after the cities were over, and then proceded to play it throughout states)
4-4 Banette Ex
2-2 Jynx d
1 Sableye DX

Speed Ban 07 consist of

4-4 Banette
2 Sableye

thats the old Speed Ban,now you can run just Speed Ban 07 which is the same, but just uses Banette SW. Tech in something to cover a Honchcrow deck or Shiftry(prefer Lucario/Suduwoodo)

Trainer line is what makes the deck work,so thats the main focus most of the time.

I agree it's more techable but, both Riolu and Shuppet can be good
starts vs Blissey. Also I think Lucario just gives the advantage with the
slightly Higher HP and the LvX. Plus you don't always have to send a
Banette up after you Suicide.

Lol, it was Banette/Lunatone/Solrock -_- (aka Rambolt)

I know, but they had a fighting line to counter that dark weakness and it was teched for Ape and other stuff. It was nice Im saying that Lucario is a tech like that and Rambolt is good. Rambolt 2000 is gonna be good this year.

Well you can wait til the Solrock/Lunatone comes out in DP4 and it really benefits Banette, you can discard and draw like Bronzong and then you get to attack without worrying about Resistant from Dark pokes or Metal ones. Then they do 20 for one F and puts a NRg on the back row or discard a staduim in play.

They make the deck so much more quick and efficent.

No,Lucario should be. Lunarock is a choice,it only helps not hurt. I would rather just play Darkrai LV.x or wait for the second coming.

I was just playtesting my banette list against a blissey list tech'd with cg sableye and by chance, the blissey deck started with Sableye both games.. man, did the Sableye cause some serious problems for Banette. Disabling Ascension, plus weakness against dark was killing Banette. You can also disable Spiteful Pain which forces Banette to use Ghosthead which still can't ko Sableye since Banette has 30 on him due to weakness and Sableye has 60HP. I think this one card is a very effective counter against Banette and is very splashable (not to mention that it's also a descent counter against Blissey).

I'm not saying that Blissey beats speed Banette, in fact, I think the two are fairly even matched (so it will come down to the specific builds and the player skills). I was just commenting on the fact that Sableye can cause problems for Banette and is a good counter to consider if you expect to see Banettes in your metagame.

the moment banette gets anywhere near being popular, the Weavile will appear more and more making this once decent deck completely worthless.

Also, if you are worried about the Absol matchup, or any other dark matchup, DO.

Having an Absol with a Dark Energy attached hitting Shuppet on turn 1 for 40 REALLY HURTS.
