Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Create a Set: Disney's Aladdin

You're welcome. I just found that quote so funny that when Baboon asked, I had to mention it.

EDIT: Problem solved. This post is too short -- I need to add a card or two!

Feather Energy
Special Energy

Feather Energy can only be attached to a Pokemon with Iago in its name. Feather Energy provides (C)(C)(C). If the Pokemon Feather Energy is attached to attacks, that attack's damage is reduced by 20. At the end of your turn, discard Feather Energy.

Undersea Energy
Special Energy

Undersea Energy can only be attached to a Pokemon with Celine in its name. While in play, Undersea Energy provides 2 (W) Energy. (Doesn't count as a Basic Energy card.)

I'll let someone else do the Special Energies for Jasmine and Sultan. I'm out of ideas for Special Energy cards.

Okay, how about Abu getting the Pokemon I suggested and some others like the Gastly family that like to cause mischief? I don't mean ALL Ghost Pokemon because Shedinja and Duskclops don't seem to be the type to play jokes on everyone. Shedinja is basically just the empty shell of Nincada and Duskclops seems a bit too serious in my opinion. I could see Abu with a Banette play tricks on everyone.

I like the way you're thinking, but that would directly intrude on Genie's theme. Also, Abu isn't really known for "mischief", per se, but for being a skilled thief.

I'll take your suggestion, and raise you a theme. Abu's in, with your two suggestions, plus all Pokemon that learn Thief by levelup (as opposed to by the TM). That leaves him with 20 possible Pokemon.

A couple more cards for the set.

Abu
Supporter

You can't play this card unless you have at least 3 cards in your hand (other than this card) and your opponent has more cards in his or her hand than you do. Your opponent discards cards from his or her hand until he or she has the same number of cards in his or her hand as you do. Then, you draw a number of cards equal to the number of cards your opponent discarded in this way.

Aladdin
Supporter

You can only have one Aladdin in your deck.

You can't play this card unless you have more Prizes remaining than your opponent and at least 3 Pokemon in play with Aladdin in their names. Draw a Prize. Then, your opponent places the top card of his or her deck as a Prize. Your turn is over now (you don't get to attack).

Monkeybadge
Trainer - Badge

You can only have one Monkeybadge in your deck. This card stays in play when you play it.

Once during your turn (before your attack), you may flip a coin. If heads, draw a card. If tails, your opponent discards a card from his or her hand.

(C) Machine Search(10)
Look at your opponent's hand. Discard all Technical Machines there.

Weakness(F)
Resistance
Retreat Cost(C)

Abu's Ursaring(C)80hp
Stage 1 Pokemon Evolves from Abu's Teddiursa

(Poke-Body)-Weak Spot
All damage done to Abu's Ursaring is increased by 10(before applying Weakness and Resistance).

(C) Sniff Out
Search your deck or discard pile for 2 cards and put them in your hand. Abu's Ursaring can't attack durig your next turn.

This attack does 40 damage plus 10 more damage for each Pokemon with Abu in its name in play(excluding Abu's Ursaring).

Weakness(F)
Resistance
Retreat Cost(C)(C)

dkates, that Aladdin card is so broken your could win a game with it sungle-handedly. Put a major handycap on it such as your opponent looking at the top 5 cards of your deck, discarding 1, and your opponent looks at your hand and discards 3 from it. Giving a +2 prize on a Supporter is too much,

Jasmine's Jynx
(W)
80HP

Poke-Body: I'm a Woman!
If Jynx is an evolved Pokemon, each players' Aladdin's and Jafar's Pokemon pay (C)(C) more to retreat.

(W) Loves Me?
You may move any number of damage counters attached to any of your pokemon to Jynx, as long as you do not knock out Jynx

(W)(C) Loves Me Not!!
Move all damage counters on Jynx to the Defending Pokemon

Weakness (M)
Resistance --
Retreat Cost (C)

I'll grant that Aladdin is a powerful card, but I think it gets balanced by two things. One, the activation requirement. Since you have to be losing to play it initially, it's impossible to take your last Prize with it. Two, you can't attack that turn. So barring some possible but pretty difficult combos, you're not going to get another prize that turn. Basically, I purposely created the card so that it would create the possibility to make a comeback easier, but it can't win the game for you. Tell ya what, though -- I'll limit it to one per deck. Does that sufficiently address your concern?

Weedler: Your card grammar needs work. Here's your card in a corrected form (not counting the accented e's):

Jasmine's Jynx
(W)
80HP

Poke-Body: I'm a Woman!
If Jasmine's Jynx is an Evolved Pokemon, each player's Pokemon with Aladdin or Jafar in their names pay (C)(C) more to retreat.

(W) Loves Me?
You may move any number of damage counters from any of your other Pokemon to Jasmine's Jynx. You cannot Knock Out Jasmine's Jynx in this way.

(W)(C) Loves Me Not!!
Move all damage counters on Jasmine's Jynx to the Defending Pokemon.

Weakness (M)
Resistance --
Retreat Cost (C)

EDIT: For all of you who are interested in making cards for Jasmine, check the top post. I've edited in a list of Pokemon that fit her theme.

Now that I'm done "complaining", at least for now, I'll contribute a couple more cards.

Royal Energy
Special Energy

Royal Energy can only be attached to a Pokemon with Jasmine in its name. While in play, Royal Energy provides (C)(C). (Doesn't count as a Basic Energy card.) Whenever the Pokemon Royal Energy is attached to attacks, you may discard any number of Energy cards attached to your Pokemon with Jasmine in their names in order to draw that many cards (before doing damage or applying any other effects of the attack).

Thief's Energy
Special Energy

Thief's Energy can only be attached to a Pokemon with Abu in its name. While in play, Thief's Energy provides (C)(C). (Doesn't count as a Basic Energy card.) Whenever the Pokemon Thief's Energy is attached to attacks, your opponent discards a card from his or her hand (before doing damage or applying any other effects of the attack).

Regal Energy
Special Energy

Regal Energy can only be attached to a Pokemon with Sultan in its name. While in play, Regal Energy provides (C). (Doesn't count as a Basic Energy card.) Whenever the Pokemon Regal Energy is attached to attacks, that attack does 10 more damage (after applying Weakness and Resistance).

Sultan's Turban
Pokemon Tool

You can only have one Sultan's Turban in your deck.

Attach Sultan's Turban to one of your Evolved Pokemon in play with Sultan in its name that does not yet have a Pokemon Tool attached to it. If that Pokemon is Knocked Out, discard this card.

When the Pokemon this card is attached to attacks, you may discard this card in order to make that attack do 30 more damage (after applying Weakness and Resistance).

Just to let y'all know, I've added a bunch of Pokemon to Genie's list. The theme of all the specifically-named Pokemon, in case you're wondering, is Pokemon that it's hard to take seriously. The Gyarados and Milotic lines got in because of the Basics -- who can take Magikarp or Feebas seriously, I ask you? I didn't list it that way because it's so subjective. I think Genie has enough Pokemon now, but poor Abu's still got only 20 possibilities. Suggestions for further broadening his theme would be appreciated. And now, with no further ado, one more card for the set.

Genie's Magic
Supporter

Your opponent chooses a type of card (Pokemon, Trainer, or Energy). Show your hand to your opponent, then draw a number of cards equal to the number of cards in your hand that are that type.

I normally don't post ideas for the art of a card, but I can't resist here. Y'know in the original Aladdin movie, when Genie says "Let's make some magic!", and becomes a magician with cards pouring out of his sleeves? I'm thinking an image of him in that state for this card.

Abu's Lotad(W)/(G)40hp
Basic Pokemon
This Pokemon is both (W) and (G) type

(C) Lily Tackle(10)

Weakness(G)
Resistance
Retreat Cost(C)

Abu's Lombre(W)/(G)70hp
Stage 1 Pokemon Evolves from Abu's Lombre
This Pokemon is both (W) and (G)

(Poke-Body)-Sneaky
As long as Abu's Lombre is on your bench, your Active Pokemon with Abu in its name's retreat cost is 0.

(W)(G) Forest Rain(20)
Put 1 damage counter on each of your opponent's Benche Pokemon. Remove damage counters from Abu's Lombre equal to the number of damage counters placed in this way.

Abu's Ludicolo(W)/(G)100hp
Stage 2 Pokemon Evolves from Abu's Lotad
This Pokemon is both (W) and (G) type

(Poke-Power)-Water Cycle
Once during your turn(before your attack), you may search your discard pile for a (W) Energy card and attach it to your Active Pokemon. Then, put 1 damage counter on all your Active Pokemon. You can't use this power is Abu's Ludicolo is affected by a Special Condition.

(W) Water Balloon(10+)
Discard any number of (W) Energies attached to Abu's Ludicolo as you like. This attack does 10 damage plus 20 more damage for each (W) Energy discarded in this way.

(W)(G)(C) Rain Drain

Covet works basically the same as Thief except for type (Covet is Normal, Thief is Dark) and PP (Covet has 40, Thief only 10), so perhaps adding those that can learn Covet by level up or breeding is a perfectly good idea.

The move Trick is a Psychic-type move that switches hold items. Basically, if the Trick user held a Razz Berry and the target held a Ganlon Berry, the Trick user would get the Ganlon and the target would get the Razz. It could also be basically used to steal when the Trick user holds nothing, but does no damage (Covet and Thief are both 40 power). Those that can learn Trick by level up or breeding could potentially work for Abu, but it's a longshot.

Sultan's Tauros
70 HP {C}
Basic Pokémon

Poké-POWER Royal Provider
If Sultan's Tauros is Benched, any Pokémon Tool or Technical Machine can be attached to any of your Pokémon in play with Sultan or Jasmine in its name.
{C}{C} Beef Combo If both Sultan's Tauros and a Pokémon with Miltank in its name are your Active Pokémon, this attack does 20 damage plus 20 more damage. 20+
{C}{C}{C} Market Sweep Ignore the effect of any Trainer card attached to the Defending Pokémon during this turn. 30

Weakness: {F}
Resistance: none
Retreat Cost: {C}{C}

Adding those conditions should add a few possibilities. OK, Carrington's suggested theme change is in.

Abu's Kecleon(C)60hp
Basic Pokemon

(Poke-Body)-Sneaky Disquise
As long as Abu's Kecleon is your Active Pokemon, Abu's Kecleon becomes the type of all your opponent's Benched Pokemon.

(C)(C) Color Trip(10+)
This attack does 10 plus 10 more damage for each type Abu's Kecleon is.

Weakness(F)
Resistance
Retreat Cost(C)

I think Kecleon can learn trick, just LMK if he can't.

Genie's Haunter
60 HP {P}

Stage 1 Pokémon (evolves from Genie's Gastly)

Poké-BODY: I AWAKEN!!
You may play Genie's Haunter from your hand as a Basic Pokémon. If you do, Genie's Haunter's maximum HP are now 30 instead of 60.

{P} The Hand Is Quicker Than The Eye
Flip a coin. If heads, place 3 damage counters on the Defending Pokémon.

{P}{P}{C} This Is Somewhat Embarrassing... 50
If Genie's Haunter is not an Evolved Pokémon, this attack does nothing.

Weakness: {D}
Resistance: {F}
Retreat Cost: {C}

Genie's Gengar
90 HP {P}

Stage 2 Pokémon (evolves from Genie's Haunter)

Poké-BODY: I Can't Raise The Dead! I Don't Like It, Don't Make Me Do It!
As long as Genie's Gengar is in play, ignore all effects of attacks, Poké-Powers, Poké-Bodies, Trainers, or any other effects that would put a Pokémon in either player's discard pile into play.

{P} EUREKA!!
Flip 2 coins. If 1 or both are heads, draw 4 cards.

{P}{P}{P}{C}{C} I Need To Lie Down After This One... 110
Discard 1 {P} Energy attached to Genie's Gengar. Genie's Gengar can't attack during your next turn.

Weakness: {D}
Resistance: {F}
Retreat Cost: {C}{C}

I'll do Gastly later. If no one else wants to do it, that is.

I'm surprised that Genie's Gengar line was ignored for so long.

EDIT:
Yes, Kecleon learns Trick by breeding. As well as Grumpig and Spinda. Alakazam and Mr. Mime learn it naturally, I think. Volbeat also learns Trick, though I'm not sure how.

Pokemon that learn Covet by level up (in various games) are Snorelax, Slaking line, Skitty and Illumise.

Covet learned through breeding is restricted to Typhlo and Poochyena lines (I could be wrong).

Linoone and Zigzagoon are quite the thieving types: they have Pick Up as trait, and learn both Covet and Trick through breeding.

EDIT2:
You know, I should stop using Base Gastly as a reference. :biggrin:

Sadira
Supporter

Choose one of your Pokemon in play with Sadira in its name. Search your deck for a number of (F) Basic Energy cards up to the number of Pokemon you have in play with Sadira in their names, and attach them to that Pokemon. Your turn is over now (you don't get to attack).

Abu's Spoink(P)50hp
Basic Pokemon

(C) Spring Up(10)
Flip a coin. If heads, choose 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokemon and switch it with the Defending Pokemon. Your opponent chooses the Defending Pokemon to switch. Then, this attack does 10 damage to the new Defending Pokemon. Then, you may switch Abu's Spoink with of your Benched Pokemon.

Weakness(G)
Resistance
Retreat Cost(C)

Abu's Grumpig(P)80hp
Stage 1 Pokemon Evolves from Abu's Spoink

(Poke-Body)-Trickster Aura
As long as Abu's Grumpig is your Active Pokemon, your opponent's Pokemon with a Pokemon Tool or Technical Machine card attached to it can't use Poke-Powers or Poke-Bodies.

(P) Strange Psy(40)
Your opponent may draw 3 cards.

(P)(C)(C) Bursting Hand(30+)
This attack does 30 damage plus 10 more damage for each card in your opponent's hand.

Weakness(G)
Resistance
Retreat Cost(C)(C)

Double-check the text on Abu's Spoink's attack, shiftrymaster. In addition to some spelling mistakes that I'd bet came from typing fast, the effect is very slightly unclear. Oh, and Scribble, even Base Gastly had a (F) Resistance. If you have one that has (P) Resistance, then it's a misprint.

Genie's Enchantment
Supporter

You can only have one Genie's Enchantment in your deck.

If one of your Pokemon with Genie in its name attacks this turn, that attack's damage is doubled.
