Not to say I like the way they are doing it.
Just pointing out that your argument works better against you.
If you are looking at sacrificing your current Masters division in favor of Seniors and Juniors who you hope to fill that void in combination to them also not leaving if faced with the same conditions that disgruntled the previous occupants of that division, then yes.

Don't try to twist what I'm saying, PokePop. The Masters division was at least half of his attendance. If he is fine making half of his attendance feel "left short", that's just what I wanted clarified.

I will take my 16 SRs at my main locale at a BR anytime. Especially out of 39 players.
Okay then. Can you explain this?

The Seniors number, on its own, is amazing. It's only 4 less than the Masters number. That is a spectacular number, because Seniors tend to continue with the game for a very, very long time. The disappointing number there is the Juniors number. 3 Juniors? Yeah, nobody would be happy with that number. But 16 Seniors on a 39 player tournament? That's 40% Seniors (roughly). That's darn good.

I agree. It is a healthy number.

Lawman's post lead me to ask why he would have such a dismissive tone towards this thread. If Lawman likes the idea of increasing the Juniors and Seniors while Masters are "left short," I won't argue with him. Trying to increase attendance of a division with small numbers, like PokePop said, I get it even if I do not agree with the way they are trying it. I just want to know if his opinion is that it is okay that Masters are "left short." Whether or not travel stipends or any other prizes are awarded at BRs, it goes to how he thinks about the Masters division.

I skipped some comments, but is the percentage of JRs and SRs up from last year?

If at the next Regional the numbers are similarly low, I would be well convinced that there is no significant effect. I'm sure we could perform some statistical test on the information, I'm just not thinking hard enough.
