Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Dungeons & Dragons Players?

So, if I go to a D&D group for the first time, what will I be expected to bring?

Don't just "Show up" and expect to jump in. You should sit down and talk to the Dungeon Master and ask questions. Ask things like what edition they play (3.5, 4.0, etc.) and what/what not is allowed. This will also allow the dungeon master to write you into the story.

Dungeon masters sometimes restrict feats, races, classes, whatever. Because they either do not fit well into the story (Like elves in a all human world, or wizards in a world without magic)

or

They are considered overpowered. Feats like "Item Familiar" are pretty overpowered, and the class "Planar Shepherd" is WAY overpowered (Something about 100+ attacks a turn.).

So, sit with the DM - find out what edition they play, and buy that edition's "Core Set" of Players Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Masters Guide.

I barely play, but I want to learn more about it. It's fun, and we are mostly maining on 4.0. So it's been rocky lately.

I'd played on and off for about a year and it's a fun game to play. I played 4.0 and had no problum learning how to play, though I am thinking of trying out 3.5.
