Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Dutch Nationals 2009 - 6/7 June

I am definitely going back to Italy in 2 months.
Last event will be the prof cup in belgium.

I may come sometimes for some event, but it will be very hard.

I got on of the best season in the Netherlands. It took a while to know the guys but I am definitely happy and I hope they'll carry a good memory of me as well.


No worlds for me due to the lack of money :/

I'm not a professor but maybe i'll be at the prof cup anyway xD
 
@ Scipio: Yes, I beat Dennis K. with Magnezone/Flygon in top 8.

@ Leonners: We will definitely remember you Andrea, but luckily I will still see you in Belgium at the Prof Cup! :)
 
I went 6-1 in Swiss on Saturday with my only loss being against Dennis with his Magnezone/Flygon deck because I had an Unown G start with NOTHING for 4 turns straight until I topdecked a Luxury Ball, but by then it was too late.

On Sunday I never really got into it, for various reasons I won't go into now. Let's just say that I enjoyed the tournament on Saturday immensely, but on Sunday some stuff happened that made me lose my focus :(

Still, I should get a ranking invite, so I'll be able to play in San Diego :) And the deck I used (Flygon/Abomasnow) was a lot of fun too play, and it worked really well for me. Until I met a super speedy Beedrill deck which had Pluspowers at all the right moments :p

Alright just got back home. Ended up 6th with Dialga G/Palkia G. Lost to Jeroen in T8, he played Flygon with 4 Pachirisu, which is an autoloss for me.

Still happy with my 6th place, think I secured the worlds invite. Still thinking if I should go though,

It was a very nice weekend of nats. I really enjoyed it. It was fun to play Gengar/Queen and it worked well for me, 6-1 in swiss. In top16 I had to play against my friend Jeroen which was crap. We playtested a lot and he deserved the win today. Well played Jeroen!

I'm almost sure of a ranking invite but not sure if I'll use it, we'll see..

And Andrea, I really enjoyed this season with you. You should come back sometimes and of course I'll visit you in Italy!
 
Brosius can you please stop this kind of spamming.
There is a topic were is asked to go into NOIR, most people are informed about that option.
I hope they will not wait to long to go into NOIR, but still the message has been spreaded, enough is enough.

Yeah, I had the bad luck of being paired against Anna and Kevin directly after one another - that Dusknoir killed my chances. Kevin deserved the win, but I would've liked being in another bracket so I could punch through the Top 4.
But no matter, it was a great tournament.
 
Here Leon, congrats to everyone who played in nationals. I played Leafeon with Nidoqueen. It was fun but not so competitive.
 
And why is Leafeon/queen not competitive.
Serious, I didn't meet a single Gengar or Flygon deck which would have been much easier match ups for me than Beedrill or that freaking Dusknoir who kept on healing max 70 after each of my opponents turn.

How on earth can a Heatran lv X based get into tops with all those Flygon X around? Unless Manectric was in that deck ( I really don't know) or by not become paired against Flygon X.
Beside playing good there are other influences which can make a person go into tops, match ups (pairings) being on of them.

The only thing what really suprised me was the absence of Gardevoir/Gallade (with or without Weavile).

No manetric and no unown g, lia :p
Don't ask yourself why, there's no point!
 
Because my list was not really consistent enough and if you come against beedrills which hit 130 to your leafeon lvx then it's quickly over. And SP pokemon hit too fast and your matchup against Dialga kinda sucks. But it was a fun deck and I have no regrets.
 
Well
It went not so great for me
Because

My first loss was against matijs
My second loss was against marcel but not needed
and then i went had to win the last round and who off all am i paired against
Maurice vd bosch
Since he already was going and needed his invite I lost

But My Cousin came in 16th place with one card different in the deck then my own version
And we pulled a Flygon X out of the boosters he won so we wnet to the side event wehre he pulled a Luxray Lv X for me so made my day that day

So Congrats Jasper en Arnoud
They always do it again

And props for Lia with a really good Deck but bad Luck
Andrea we will miss you next season but I will see you in Brussels

Andrea don't forget Unown G is a perfect starter LOL.
I am also very stupid because I obviously used Unown G in my deck.


I am only amazed again how much "luck" is involved in this game.
I don't feel sad/bad or anything I only want to find out how to get a little portion of the luck some people seem to have.
