Granted, December 21st 2012 is a date that's been recycled and retold over and over again. Like most people already have heard, its the end of the myian calender, not the end of the world. I've heard alot of methods in which humanity will die out on that date and they range from Mother Nature to Alien Invasion.

However, for those of you who question the validity of global warming you ovbiouly havn't been listening. ITS PROVEN. Thousends of scientists arn't all going to get togeather just to tell everyone that we're killing the earth...for the sake of it?

For the sake of argument lets completly over simplify this senario. Instead of argueing whether or not its true and if we should do something about it...lets look at what will happen in all 4 senarios....and for the sake of it, lets just look at the worst case senario.

So..1) Global Warming is true, and we decide to do something about it.
Well luckily for us we were able to prevent the diasterous effects of global warming. However the amount of money we invested into saving the world has created some sort of economic disaster.....So we're alive, but in debt.

2) Global warming doesn't happen and we did something about it.
Well, we spent a bunch of money saving a planet that didn't need saving....We now have greener technology and more fuel effiecent cars...but we didn't NEED to...so we're alive and spent and in debt.

3) Global warming doesn't happen and we didn't do anything.
Well...life goes on. Lucky for us we didn't do anything about it, and there wasn't anything to be done. So we could expect the same senario we have right now. (for alot of people that is Alive but in debt anyways)

4) and we're left with Global warming happening but we didn't do anything....
Simply enough....we die. Heat melts the ice caps, fresh water stops the ocean current circulation, the earth freezes over...at least we're not in debt any more.....

Ovbiously enough, we don't get to choose whether global warming is a threat or not, however we do get the choice of whether or not we should do something about it.
Either we don't do anything...which gives us a 50-50 shot at living normally or dieing
or we can do something about it, which gives us 50-50 shot whether the money we spent was worth it. I'll leave that choice to you.

Im sorry but Global Warming has NOT been proven, in fact a lot of the evidence points to nothing happening. Yes it never hurts to make cleaner stuff, but going crazy about it and using it for personal gain (look at politicians) is just dumb. Evolution hasnt actually been proven and is at best a hypothisis, yet many scientists consider it proven. Just because a lot of people believe in something doesnt mean its true. BTW all these scientists that say its happening really arn't that many. We just don't ever really hear the other ones that say its not happening.
 
Theirs no Global Warming, if you get past all of the lies you learn the Earth goes through cycles of warming up and cooling off, this is just a cycle its going through of warming up. It happens over periods of thousands of years, like the Ice age was a cooling off period.

Global warming is happening.

The Earth does go through cycles (We happen to be late for the next ice age). But the aparent change sugests that it has changed dramaticly.
And we know that materials like Carbon Dioxide and Methane are insulators, they let go of heat slower (they gain it slower too, but bbecause of the senario speed of gain is not a factor). We also know the chloroflurocarbons do destroy ozone, letting even more heat hit the Earth.

People (like mentioned, especialy polititians) are makeing it sound worse, but it can't be denied that it is happening.
 
Well if you want to classify the cycling we going through now as global warming, theirs no harm in saying it.

but its not caused by pollution. while its factored in, its hardly the cause of it.

Doing some research, apparently Earth is not the only planet getting warmer, its all planets in the Solar System not only getting Warmer, but look at the Sun and Moon at night as well as some planets, they are much more brighter to, least within the last couple of years or so.

Hmm maybe that means the Sun is going to blow up just so the world can end in 2012. :p

Going off of what Bullet said, the Earth has had a case of Global warming before. I can't remember when exactly, but I believe it was in the Middle ages, maybe slightly after. The Earth warmed up then too. Pollution could be the cause, but could also just be a cycle, or it could be what Bullet is talking about.
As far as the World ending in 2012, I really doubt it. Sure, it could happen, there are ways it could happen, but honestly...how big are the chances of it any of the doomsday stuff happening THEN?

I cant believe it will end in 2012 either, but their so many references though from the Mayan Calendar, to Nostrodomus, it is kind of scary to think about it though.

its pretty stupid to think the government dont have more advanced tech then what we aware of.

its pretty stupid to think the government didnt gain any technology out of roswell either.

Its also stupid to believe that aviation hasnt evolved hardly at all over the last 30-40 years to when alot of other things has.

So you also believe in UFOs? :rolleyes::lol: Ya they could be out there but there havn't been any that came to earth.

Even if they could (they can't) the government would NOT cause an earthquake that kills thousands, and then SEND THEM MONEY to help them... it just doesn't add up. :/
 
I could've sworn I heard this story before that the world will end in 2000. But why 2012? I suppose we all pack our bags on move on to another planet if that were the case lol.

Been plenty that came to earth, theirs about 2 million videos of them out there.

Government would cause an earthquake then send money to that region, why? its called Population control. You control the population, that makes the powers that be job alot easier to rule. Wait till you start seeing earthquakes occur no where near fault lines and in places where you never guess an earthquake would take place.

Which already happened already I believe.
 
So if everyone did die, that would mean parents couldnt produce babies =/. Which would not be fun and I dont think you can produce babies in heaven. I dont think that will ever happen
 
Something is going to happen in 2012 but not everyone is going to die, with the population on earth right now, it be hard to kill everyone unless an asteroid the size of earth came, and even then I still question it.
 
If an asteroid the size of Earth itself hit Earth, that would probably destroy the planet, and definitely destroy all life on it. That would basically be the Planet X scenario. However, there is evidence all over the world of the craters left behind by asteroids that hit Earth before there was life on it. One theory is that the Gulf of Mexico was created by the asteroid that theoretically wiped out the dinosaurs.
