Yeah thats what would happen, but I still question could live exist on the remnants left of the planet, could any remnants left hold gravity to support the atmosphere, I guess it depends on how severe the damage would be.

It seems everyone of any importance made statements about whats going to happen on that date.

I heard people say thats when we evolve into the next density.

I heard people say Aliens will land.

I heard people say war will end all life.

I heard people say Polar Shift will occur.

I heard people say they looked into project looking glass and saw basically nothing.

I heard people say Planet X will come

I heard people say the planets align.

it goes on and on.

other words no one knows but maybe 1, its basically choose above which one it is, one of them may happen.
 
I honestly can't believe how many people here can't accept the fact that through industrialisation, development, and living everyday lives in this consumistic society.

Yes, as alot of you have pointed out, the earth has a warming and cooling cycle. And yes we are some point within the warming cycle. THIS IS GLOBAL WARMING. IT IS PROVEN. By saying its not happening and by saying it doesn't exsiste, you're being ignorent of the facts! Its like saying 2+2 isn't 4. Don't just take my word for it, or the politians "who are getting things outta of it" ...apperently.... go look for your self at the average temperatures...they've been going up for decades, centuries even!
There is no point in denying whether its happening or not.....how ever if you still feel the need to argue, you can argue whether or not we're the ones causeing it.

Its already been proven that Methane and Carbone dioxyde and many other polutants are green house gases. Yes these gases are produced naturally, and like wise they are reduced naturally aswell...(the ocean absorbs methane)...however with significient incress in the amount of greenhouse gases, and a lack of methods dealing with such gases results in left over green house gases...increasing global temperatures.

This isn't true no mater how you look at it. Yest the earth has been getting warmer, but its not "global warming" caused by people. I guess you could call it that but that would lead to a lot of confusion, and cause people to think that a completly natural cycle is bad. There have NOT been significent increases in the amount in greenhouse gasses, and all the evidence points to Global Warming NOT HAPPINING.

Im not against making the planet cleaner in any way, but causing all this worry about somthing that isnt happening is just dumb.

You say that its been proven? Please show me how/where/when its been proven, because I'm quite sure that there is no proof what so ever to support it.
 
See thats the thing about any info you see on youtube if it be about Planet X, Haarp, UFOs, Roswell, 1952, anything from the whistle blowers including all the crap like ruins on the moon from past civilization is its False info mixed with truth.

Thats done to keep the U.S. Government off their backs and protect their lives.

Otherwise you end up like Phil Schneider

There is no way life would still exist. The atmosphere would not be around if the planet were to break apart into pieces, which is pretty likely. You have to think of the atmosphere as if it were a soap bubble around Earth. When something hits that, it just pops, and the planet, which would be inside the bubble, just floats away. The planet's remains would probably not stay in orbit, and if it did, it would be farther or closer away from the sun than it currently is, and that would throw off all of the weather patterns by itself. Oh wait, there is no atmosphere, so there can't be weather. In addition to all of that, the hot inner layers of Earth with the mantle and core would cover most of the surface of the pieces, and those would be completely uninhabitable even if there was an atmosphere. This is all aftermath of such an impact. I haven't even talked about the direct effects of such a large object smashing into Earth, but I am not going to.

Wow, thinking through all of that was kind of fun. Is that weird?

Its like saying that dinosaurs never exsisted because the bible never mentioned them...

or, as another over simplfied example. A blind man can't disprove the sky is blue because he can't see it. Likewise you shouldn't say global warming isn't true because you havn't looked into the evidence of it.

And I believe that we're having a circular argument on the definitions of global warming...so here are a few....

Funny how a scientist can take a fact and change it around to get it to mean what he wants it to mean. >_>

The so called "Global Warming" really started BEFORE we had enough stuff to actually add anything to the atmosphere. Take a look at some of the arguements against it. You will find that there is a LOT more evidence showing that nothing is happening. Quite simply we just don't add enough stuff to cause a significant increase in tempature. Since its a natural cycle then the results wont be bad, as the earth has survived it before.

According to the Bible, we have only been around for a few thousand years. I don't think the Cycle is that fast, but I don't know.

I don't think anyone has more authority in the Pokemon community about global warming than me, since I wrote a 30-something page extended essay on it. :p

It IS happening. The CO2 levels have had a noticeable increase since the Industrial Revolution, and there is a direct correlation between the increase in CO2 that we know is caused by us and the temperature increase. The levels of CO2 are the highest they have EVER been in Earth's known history.

Oh, and only like... no scientists believe it's not real.

If you want to put it that way, this last warming trend started around 10000-12000 years ago, so arguably yes global warming started before we could have "caused it".

However as others have already pointed out (in this thread no less) CO2 and global temperature charts over the past 300 years have been linked, almost dirrectly.....look at these two charts (if you can't read them just ctrl print screen, paste into paint and scale to size)

You keep on telling me to go look at the evidence, so I do and bring back more evidence to counter your claims, and you are yet to show me any of evidence disproving global warming....You've told me its out there...so why not show us all? Give us a link.

Guys, this thread isn't about whether or not global warming is happening, it's about the world ending in 2012. (Such a cheerful topic) If you want to say that global warming will be how the world ends, then go ahead. Just don't talk just about global warming. (Wow. I can't believe I just said that!) I don't think that it's going to end, but it could. However, it should be fun to watch people run around like headless chickens when it is December 2012.:tongue:

I was thinking the same thing...

But yeah, as stated by a few people: The world isn't supposed to END on 12/21/12. The WHOLE world is supposed to go through a "Great Change." Your guess is as good as mine as to what will "Change" and why it will be so "Great." As previously stated in this same thread, MAYBE Aliens will fall from the sky and Bigfoot will show himself on National TV. Maybe we find a way to time travel. Maybe we can find a way to Survive on other planets. Maybe nothing will change at all. Something may even change, and we might now even notice!!!
That's how much we know about this as of now. The thing is, until something undeniable happens, it's ALL guess work. No one can convince me NOTHING will happen, because you don't know! We will have to wait to find out, and this wait is only about 4 years and a few months ahead of us. We'll know soon enough....

So wait it out. You only have 4 Years left to find out.
 
How did this turn into a global warming debate? And since it seems that the whole debate has gone into the good old "if you can't disprove it then it must be true" argument. I say the world will end on December 20th, 2012.

I don't know if that site is affiliated with Al Gore, I saw a link with his name on it at the top of the page, but he seems to be slightly insane. He's behind the wecansolveit.org commercial thats been running on tv so much lately. It says that we can switch to 100% clean energy within 10 years. Anyone who thinks that is viable is insane.*


*disclaimer: I do not think that having clean energy is a bad idea. I'm merely pointing out that we won't be on 100% clean energy in 10 years.
