No. I hate it when people take a mutual agreement and turn it into a fact. For all we know, Nintendo could go bankrupt in three days....for example.

Oops...

It's been confirmed from a number of credible sources. Officially announced? No. POP is busy with conventions, ensuring consistant rulings, Worlds, and creating new/current programs slated to start after Worlds. If you cannot trust what has been said from those "in the know", then I suppose you can start metagaming when the official announcement is made.

Yes, the PUI representative at the East SC stated that the WOTC sets would rotate out after Worlds.

Well until the american set comes out, lets not guarantee anything. Heck, until it happens, lets not guarantee anything.

The PUI representative at the WCSC also stated the first three WOTC sets would be rotated out after worlds for modified....

So it confirmed.. I hope.........

When is the 'floor rules' document set to be updated? Can't say for sure but here is what the current document says:

Pokémon Organized Play Floor Rules Rules effective October 1, 2003 for the 2003-2004 Tournament Season

Worlds is mid-late August. My guess is Sept 1 is too soon to change after that... as Phil says they're very busy now. I think they need a month after worlds to make ready for all the changes (not just in format) coming up for fall.

So, unless someone has inside info, I'll take a guess... I think any format change will wait for Oct 1.

By my powers - combine! Let's keep rotation of sets to one topic please.

woah BJJ Captain planet ref. are we a bit tired?
and to keep on topic
We're never sure exactly what cards we are going to get in our sets we can only make an educated guess by looking at the cards that are released in Japan.

No one answered my question! Are they combing the ADV Set (known as EX in US) with FireRedLeafGreen on? because the set is going to be apperently called "EX:FRLG"

I don't think so with regards to that combination of sets. Remember that all the other Nintendo sets in the US have been named "EX: <Name of Set>" thus far, so this is being consistent with all the others. Anyway, on topic here, I think that the format rotation will make the game a lot more fun.

I expect the floor rules will be updated slightly every year. If we were to officially change a format, it'd probably be covered in that...maybe.

Maybe consider not "changing" the format, just instituting a new format. If you do decide to cover a new format, I think a nation wide constructed premier event would be wise...
