Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Fakes make me angry.

I remember working at a Pokemon Fan Day. 2008, I believe.
I was patrolling the grounds where everyone was trading, making sure the older folks gave the kids fair deals, picking out fakes, the works.
At one point, I see a little boy with a binder filled with expensive cards (at that time - LA just got released). Mespirit X, Gardevoir SW, Claydols, the works.
You guessed it, all fake.
I had to tell the boy and his father that we couldn't allow him to trade the fakes. The dad went all berserk on me, going "I BOUGHT A TICKET HERE AND NOW YOU'RE RUINING MY DAY" and stomped off in anger.
I really felt for that kid.

There was a kid that was registering for a City Championships in Ohio and someone traded him a Illegal Flygon with a paper (printed or copied) Legal Flygon on it in a sleeve and the kid did not know this until he had to switch the sleeve out. The kid was shocked when the the paper Flygon glided onto the table! He was so upset that he would have to leave the contest. But someone traded him the real Legal Flygon for the fake one and he went on in the contest. PEOPLE SELLING OR TRADING FAKES ARE DUMB!:mad::mad:

I've actually been really fortunate that I have not had upset parents at me. After I explained how to spot fakes and how this is unfortunately a common problem when not buying from a trusted source, they were more worried on consoling their kid. And most people get mad at the creep that sold them the fakes to begin with.

I just have the feeling that the man knew more about the fakes then he wanted to admit.

Funny thing though, imagine me, a 6'4 tall 200 lbs bloke. Now imagine a 5 foot tall granny who comes up rushing at me and is all like "I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING! YOU'RE HOGGING ALL THE GOOD CARDS FOR YOURSELF YOU GREEDY *******!"
This while I'm making sure all trades are done fair and square. Gave me a good few laughs afterwards.

I almost ALWAYS find fakes when a new kid joins my Pokemon League. It makes me sad when I see the disheartened look on their face when they find out that their favorite LV. X is fake and that they can't use it or trade it in League. :frown:

fakes make all new people unhappy, I helped a new person go through his cards luckilly only a few were fake, he seemed fine about it.

yeah but it sucks when there's a lot of fakes, it's hard to tell someone that you can play with those cards.

What you can play with fakes?

fakes make me sad like when recently i visisted my cousin who just started and was happy that he had dgx and i was happy for him but when i got there it broke my heart to say its fake :/

Fake cards are sometimes fun to collect and are cheaper than real cards/proxies (ink) for testing. I just wish fake cards were original cards (not related to any real pokemon sets, entirely new cards altogether) because it would make a "new" game more interesting :D

I went to China and saw boxes of fakes sold in department stores. Thats where they all come from and they make their way to the US from mostly the Dollar Store. :nonono::nonono::nonono:

I have some and I use them for testing at my home until I can get the cards I need on ebay.
Its the selling and trading of fakes I don't like (selling fakes is Illegal if you did not know).

I hope that no one buys fakes.... even for deck testing. It's not hard to find a site with images of the cards and print a few out for proxies. If that fails and it's a commonly known card, honestly, a reversed card in a sleeve with a scrap of paper proclaiming what it is works just fine. :)
