Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Gamestop Tournament Registry

My one is Lv. 40 with any pokemon allowed but I forgot to ask for the format like 2v2 or 1v1 and how many in your party.

I asked the worker if legendaries are allowed and he said yeah what advantage do you have with a lv. 40 charmander vs. lv 40 legendary

I said oh none thats fine!

^LOL agreed. I MIGHT be there im just not sure is it single elim or multiple rounds? Im just not that good i havn't powered up my pokemon or taught em good moves or anything.....so are all legendaries illegal or is it just anything above 490? And also for our tourny in richmond VA there are signups i dont think they just said to show up. Are the rewards the same for all the tournaments?

nope its probably multiple rounds and yes all legendarys are legal except for darkrai shaymin and arceus. I'm gonna use garchomp, rayquaza, salamence, and maybe even rhyperior.

Well, our store sounds like they have pulled it together. When we were there last weekend they were clueless but I just called and they seem pretty organized. This store (Dublin, OH) is going to use 'rental' Pokemon so that they do not have to worry about ubers and cheated stats, etc. 2PM start time.

because my dad is gonna be really busy tomorrow i dont know if we'll be able to go....will there be more tournaments on other occasions or is this a one time deal?

the one in sandy ut stated the following dumb rules:
no shedinja
no wobbufett
no Ubers
no slaking

attacking moves only (aka no leech seed/recover/toxic etc..)

no items on pokemon

I called the Gamestop nearest me that was supposed to have a tournament, but when I asked the guy who answered the phone about it he answered "My Wii is broken" in a very rushed manner. Rather odd IMO. I doubt these will be very organized at all.

Called again for confirmation of this lv. 40 anything goes format and his words when asked for rules and regulations of pokemon:

"Quite honestly, I don't have time to explain it to you right now, show up at 12 and play."

From what my brother told me (after he calls Gamestop yesterday) , it goes like this:

Lv. 50
4 Pokemon (not sure if it's Single or Double)
Legendaries allowed
Shiny/Hacker Check

that's all I know.

Rules for mine:

Pokes will be set to level 50
no shinies
1-490 allowed

Forgot to ask about 1v1 or 2v2

I called my Gamestop, all they told me was I needed my own DS & DP, the time to show up and if I had used Action Replay they have to kick me out, then he hung up. I'm interested to see how they organize things, i'm not expecting much effort. =\

Our tournament will be 1v1, 6 on 6, Lvl 50 Modifier, No legendary/Wobb/Wynaut. The guy on the phone sounded really excited about it so hopefully it goes well.

the rules for ours are

1v1 not sure how many on team
legedarys allowed
no pokemon past 490
check for code breakers

My boys took first and second place at our local tournament (Dublin, OH). It was fairly well organized. You had to rent Pokemon from their Battle Revolution. Each player had a team of 3. The only problem is that they only gave the 1st place winner the game and not a t-shirt. I just checked the website.... Might have to go back! Still my boys are very excited. There were a few people who were upset that they could not use their won teams but the manager nicely explained that he didn't feel that he could check everyone's teams to make sure they had not been illegally obtained, etc. It seemed fair to us.

yeah it went very well for us i would say. it could have been a bit better organized but there were around 10 people and everyone could use they're own team but only 1 legendary unfortunatly. 1v1 4 pokemon per team. i made 3rd which is fine cause i had fun and they were talking like might do it again.

My brother took 2nd. It was 4vs4 Doubles until the top 2, which was 6vs6. It was decent, but since there were a lot of people, it was hot in there, even with the AC.
