Of course, we are also assuming a certain amount of business savvy that the TCG doesn't always demonstrate. It is hard to believe any adequate sized/shaped/priced Pokémon product lacks TCG promotional cards. I don't know when Yu-Gi-Oh started loading video games with three promos in Japan, but they did it right away in the U.S. and trust me, it worked wonders for sales. >.> I remember buying three copies of some games right away, then selling two back right away to make sure I had playsets of the promos.
While I don't care for super-exclusive promos only available with a big purchase (even if it is pretty much the smallest of "big" purchases like a video game), as long as they are still selling physical copies of games I am puzzled by the lack of this in Pokémon. I think they did it once with the "Pokemon Trading Card Game" video game for the Game Boy Color from... what, 1999? 2000?
