Gengar EX (many of them >D) + Electrode EX + delcatty/TV reporter/Juggler/other energy discard tricks

I like this one (A)

This is what I'm testing right now. Wanna play on apprentice? ;) click on the gengar deck link.

It's actually a decent card, especially since you can see your opponent's hand and know exactly what's coming up. I've seen it with slowbro for healing and it's become a decent deck.

good card, yes
but not #1 best card in the set
there are many better cards

but about the Gardy vs Gengar thing. . .

Gengar > Gardy
IMO

i'm playing with gangar cuz i think psychic pokemon are awesome cuz they are only weak to psychic, well gangar's weak to dark also but no one plays dark. so if you don't play another psychic deck then it's gonna be tough to beat. especially cuz it's resistance to fighting and colorless. then no one can paralyze you to death with dunsparce and KO your gex.
He's also weak to Psychic cause he is part poison.

The answer to this is so obvious it's not even funny. Look at Gengar's resistances.

Well, let's break the card down, now:

Strengths:

-Resistent to colorless and fighting. A VERY nice combination, IMO.
-Nice lineup of attacks. PC for 40+ is very nice especially

Weaknesses:

-Weak to Dark and Psychic. Everyone, just because Shiftry isn't a top deck doesn't mean that Dark Pokemon as a whole are gone. There's an entire set of TMTA just waiting to be combo'ed with other stuff to take it down, should it ever be too popular.
-Both attacks are in your opponent's control, not yours. The reason Gardevoir ex was what it was is somewhat due to psystorm and the ability to just mass energy if necessary. With Gengex, it's your opponent who controls how many prizes he has left, and how many trainers are in his hand.

You can use electrode ex to control your opponent's prizes. ;) It's strange, most old-school pokemon-ex are remakes of their old versions but not gengar ex.

Lol, I remember at Worlds there was this Japanese person who really wanted my Gengar Ex. He was offering all kinds of cards for it.Maybe people in Japan have some sort of aweseome deck with Gengar Ex...

Or they love the artwork like me. :D

One card will destroy it:

Team magma's Claydol, for 3 energies i do 160 damage. I have more cards in my hand then u. 240. Team magma will rip it 2 bits

Thanks for stating the obvious. :p

Maybe there's no hidden combos afterall. People just like the artwork and the reputation of Gengar.

but a good player would not bring their gangar ex up when they know the opponent has a claydol or if the claydol is almost powered up. that what reversals are for and then you can take the claydols out early.

 n/m I am sooooo dumb! I read it wrong. I thought if you had more prize cards it did 100. Disregard everything I said. :p

Edit>
Ah... I know why I thought it was so good. I read the translation

* GENGAR ex [150 HP] (Stage 2 Psychic Pokemon / Evolves from Haunter)
[PC] Poltergeist (40+)
Look at your opponent's hand. This attack does 10 more damage for each
Trainer card there.
[PPC] Prize Taunt (60+)
If you have more Prize cards than your opponent, this attack does 40 more
damage.
WEAKNESS: PSYCHIC/DARKNESS
RESISTANCE: FIGHTING/COLORLESS
RETREAT: CC

(which is wrong) and it was stuck in my head so when I read the actual card it didn't register with me.
No, you read it right... If you 'have' more prizes, then you've 'drawn' fewer.

I do love teh diea with gengar ex and gorebyss. Very powerful combo if mixed with the right cards. i can actually see a deck with phy shadow gardy, gengar ex and gorebyss.

I heard that people in Japan also use electrode ex with gengar, which is what I've been testing recently.
