Ah cool, well I spoke on the phone and were going to aim for 10:30 so that should give us time...
Err are you aloud to trade from the boosters you get to help with your deck?

The deck for the tournament is only allowed to be made from the cards you pull from the boosters given to you.
But trading after is allowed for cards you want.

Err my friend is after 2 Snorlax Lv.X and one Drapion Lv.X but cant afford £20 each on the Internet, but he also has no cards... He only has one booster pack at the min... so if you or anyone there had the Lv.x's how much would you charge?

Try eBay. You shouldn't be paying more than £5-10 each for those and even that's too much imo.

£20 is WAY too much for cards (unless you looking at meta deck staples e.g. Luxray GL Lv. X/ Uxie lv. X) Most lv. X's go for around £5 depending on popularity, some more... some less.
The forum trade boards would give you a better deal for them.
See how you go on Sunday at finding them and then try there.

The prerelease was amazing and I can't wait to come to more, err what was the next tournament? That you use your own deck for I mean,
Will you be having a black and White prerelease? Because I've convinced another friend to come to that one ^^

I'm only missing one card(3) the Gallade 4 Lv.x, it's about £10 but I'm going to try and find it somewhere cheaper...
I am missing the spitomb or sablye but I've put in two zangoose platinum until I get them,
I used a proxy Gallade 4 Lv.X and won one and lost another, but he was playing raichu etched against garchomp (he had protection on his bench... a manectric)
The only problem I had was draw and basics... But I'm not to sure on how to fix that ^^ but when I got things out it was an easy win.
I've teched an Absol prime as my gengar counter, but it's attack puts thinks in the lost zone so it's kind if like sealing your fate... But it does work as long as then don't fainting spell... :/

Other than the launch party this Saturday, the next event for us will be the monthly tournament
Its a friendly tournament for players with the winners getting free league play for a month and entry into the Quarterly Qualifiers. Details are on here

Following that we shall be having states championship (march) and of course the Black & white Pre-release. Not sure on dates for these yet tho.

I wil check in the shop to see if we have have any league promo Spiritombs left. They were popular so I don't know if theres any spare from that season.
Some people are using Absol G/Absol G lv. X. Its attack is easy to power up with special dark and energy gain (which you already have in the deck) It can be good against gengar prime as it gives you the option of discarding a pokemon that is no longer needed. (spiritomb/sableyes)

Draw power is limited. Most people use Uxie and seeker coupled with hand refresh suh as PONT.
Pokemon collector is the best card to get basics out, If you are struggling with them in then I would suggest upping the count a little if possible.

Glad you enjoyed the pre-release and look forward to seeing you at other events.

States will probably be the same price as our other constructed deck tournaments, £5.
Pre-releases are always around £20 as you get boosters to make your deck.

I like the idea of this deck and tried it myself. Honchkrow SV is great if you can find the space, but if not try a single Judge? Using this can slow down Gyarados a little bit or maybe even a Devoluter so you can spread with Gallade 4 X + Poketurns then devolute the Gyarados to take some cheap prizes.

Just a few ideas.

I'll be at Nottingham States too, so if you're going I'll see you there

If Honchkrow works for you then it's definately a great card Lostgar will probably be there, but I'll have to see it to believe it doing well just yet

TS-2 Devoluter is from Legends Awakened. Another idea is Jirachi UL. I used to use it in Gengar to recycle psychic energy and it has a built in Devoluter. It can be powersprayed though, but its better that devoluter as it can't be trainer locked and can be searched out. It's pokepower also searches the energy from your discard pile with you needing only 1 out of 3 flips to power it up.

Just some more ideas.

EDIT: Just noticed that you only have one Uxie.. I would bump that up to two if you can cause if it's prized then you'll have trouble, even though you do have Azelf. Maybe take out the Absol Prime if you have Honckrow

The Honchrow is a good play I think, especially if it is helping your game in testing
Dark techs are useful for both vilegar and lostgar.

From what I've been told, Vilegar is the most popular deck in the North, while Luxchomp dominates down South. This is only because we have all the Luxrays :lol:

For a States you will be getting people from all over the country though, so it will be more like a National meta than a local one.

At cities there was a high proportion of Vilegar, with lostgar being talked about so much I would expect a few trying it out competitively.
As you say States attracts a wider group of players, so it might be best to see whats around on the day and tech for what you notice. Last minute techs have been known to save matches

The City Champs in Nottingham was the busiest out of the three I went to with some people coming a long way, so with a 32K rating there will be a lot more as babymario said

I don't know about LostGar yet.. With the right list it could work (as it came second in the European Cup) but can be easily teched against with SP/LuxChomp Although Baroness will certainly have a good matchup against it

I have another uxie if you want one, and I have those spiritomb for you.

Regarding epert belts. it is player preference. It can win games but generally you have to be carefully of when and who you attach it to. Something that will KO a vital pokemon that needs 20 extra damage that wont get revenge hit next turn, or somethign is getting healed or seekered. Another time to use them is when its last chance saloon and your opponent only has one prize left anyway.
