Getting scammed.

He said that you have won... like in an ebay auction..

I'm not Marco117..

He tried to make out he sent them me by mistake I assume, although he's not replying to me anymore.

Marco117 is from Italy, with no feedback despite being a user for 4 years..

DId you do a video of you opening it?

No, don't think it was really needed, the size of the envelope is tiny and it said 13g on the proof of postage.

It should have contained 30 boosters and about 25 cards.

Does he live far away from you? For that much money, I'd pay someone a visit... with a Doberman by my side lol

It's a 3 hour drive and I can't drive :D I did tell him I was going to go to his house, that's when he stopped replying.

I can't see the sense in scamming someone who has your address. It just doesn't make sense, I'm only saying this as an example, but I could go to his house and brick his windows or car or anything like that.

You even hear of people getting killed from things like this.

I know, right? Where I live someone will literally follow you to your house if you just cut them off in traffic, imagine scamming them out of money.

Well, I'm not advocating you doing anything that could get you in trouble (either with the law or physically), but at least know that the guy may be scared now XD At least you can take solace in that, if anything.

People with that much money invested in Pokemon don't do trades like this (if they trade at all) and have adequate protection for their cards.

Also, people with that much money in cards tend to be relatively nice, from my experience. Have yet to meet any serious collectors I'd deem murderous.

Nobody kills somebody because they stole your pokemon cards.

I said from things like this.

Anything that people that have a lot of money invested into applies. I don't think I need to add examples.

Well, rip them off and then see how nice they are :D

Posting offsite links is against the rules...
Just a forewarning.

Anywho, if it were me, I'd definitely take a bus ride, carpool whatever the 3 hours (that isn't that long) to trade in person, because honestly, shipping $1.5k in cards a distance that is so miniscule makes no sense.

So the guy lives 3 hours away, and you didn't deem it necessary to drive whenever you were dealing with $1500 worth of merchandise. What??

You couldn't have gone on a Saturday or something? Surely you mustn't work seven days a week.

He doesn't drive.. as stated on one of the post here.

Parents, friends, bus even? It would probably have cost less to drive/commute there than it did to ship. Plus he would have had the piece of mind knowing that the transaction could have been done face to face.

This thread gets more and more ridiculous by the day...

OP, if we assume everything you've said so far is true, you still need to take the high road here. Posting this person's personal details on a public site is a bad idea, as it is still your word against his/hers. As has been recommended several times, you should file for your country's equivalent of mail fraud. Then let your nation's legal system sort it out. Posting the details here only will result in the court of public opinion, which has no power.

If a mod/admin removes it, fair enough, but I think people should know now to deal with him.

I'm tempted to win that auction he has on just to give him as hard a time as possible.

Dad works away 5 weeks at a time, this being his 2nd week away, I wouldn't even consider the bus..
