Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Gold and Silver Remake?! EDIT: NOW CONFIRMED.

No reason to hype it until we guarantee it isn't Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 3: Golden Bling or Silver Cash Money.

I'm not saying it isn't a remake, because that would be like the best thing since well.. the first one (and maybe R/S), but still, people are getting a little too hyped up for something, and then they announce something else and be very disappointed.

Hey, if it is a remake, maybe this one will cross the border boundaries like no other. Instead of just Kanto, maybe out of Johto we see Hoenn too?

I agree with Ultimatedra pretty much the same thing I'd say, and to add on, FINALLY.

I think its awsome that they are remaking Gold and Silver! :)

Wow. I've been waiting for this remakes since DP came out. I bet it took Gamefreak a while to remake GSC because of the DS graphic engine and they wanted to really give Johto/Kanto a very good facelift. I'm so psyched for the big announcement!

BTW, thanks for posting those pics, ultimatedra. Just more or less confirms that GSC is on its way.

Why are people all ready stating that there will be a remake? Nothing official has been announced. Who knows maybe GSC is the next card set had anyone thought about that? Probably not. It could be that they are bringing back characters from GSC and incorporating them into the Anime again. It could be any thing. Yes I agree a remake would be nice, but just because a lot of people demand a remake companies weigh that select group of people against the rest of their base. Most times the select group of people are only a very small percentage and are ignored because the remake would only go after a very small percentage of their market.

We should just wait and see. But it would be a smart move by nintendo. They know fans want that remake, and they know it will sell millions, and now it's a pretty good time to release them, in this recession.

The fact is that they don't know how much it will sell until it is released. Also during a recession is not a great time to be releasing loads of games. People will spend less on items that aren't required to live. I mean no offense but that statement was kinda stupid to make. Low times in an economies prevent companies from going to far out of the norm for them just to satisfy some people as it may satisfy them it overall is a waste of money.

^ I know at the least its a game. The Pokemon Sunday show states that it was going to be announced specifically during their Video Game section. It won't be anything anime related or card game related, this is known. However, there is no solid proof (Pics or it didn't happen, to speak) that it is for sure a solid, true blue remake of GS yet.

We know at the least it is a video game.

^ You should see how bad it is at Pokebeach. Their admin is dismissing any discussion of the game being other wise as false and is calling anyone who doesn't agree with him an idiot.

Trust me, I don't like it any more than you do, though I am having big hopes in my mind that this is GS. It would indeed please me.

I hope it is a remake of G/S/C. I did not play the games back them, as I took a break from the games when they came out.

I have them now, but with dead batteries in the games, you can't get far.

For the sake of the fans, I hope that it is a true remake, but who knows until next weekend.

Pokemon Gold is still my single favorite Pokemon game out of all of them. Platinum has some interesting thoughts floating around. But Gold was my first brush with speed running a game, and I got pretty darn good at it (sub-4-hours through Red). I wonder if there will be any translation changes, such as changing the names of Blue and Red to Gary and Ash...

I really enjoyed after beating the elite 4 going into that cave and fighting Ash/Red, and truly trouncing him! Almost like the cartoons come to life. If they even do the remake of G/S, I hope they keep that part in. to me that was a real treat! Personally, I don't think we need another Mystery dungeon. While the games are fun in and of themselves, it isn't the same "Gotta catch em all" feeling the real poke games give you, and all the added fun stuff, like trading pokies and all that (although I really can do without those contests!), I feel the same thing goes for The Ranger series. The spinoffs are OK, but they should stick with what sells the most, the Pokemon RPG games.

Anyway, if they do remake G/S. the best Marketing Ploy Nintendo could do would be to #1 release the game close to Xmas, so it would be a sure seller, and #2, come up with some new pokies! Palkia , Dialga, Giratina and the Pixies were cool, but how many different variations on Butterfree should there be? Especially when the cheap clones like Mothim don't even compare. I for one would like to see more new pokies, and not just Legends.

Thanks for letting me rant, and for reading this!

Trust me G/S remakes will definitley sell a lot. Heck even pokemon platinum, which just added some extra features to D/P, sold more than 1 million in just 2 days(Japan alone). Let alone how much a remake of G/S would sell. So they will definitley make a profit on it.

Haha, silly you. Video games are not affected by the recession!

Okay, *sort of* kidding.

But yeah, regardless of those of us who are pinching their pennies, a G/S remake will definitely be a huge hit. Nintendo would have to be stupid NOT to do it, really. By re-releasing G/S, they can keep us occupied while they try to figure out what legendary is better than the God Pokemon, Arceus, for 5th gen XD

I think a remake would be so cool!.
Also it will give us a chance to catch: Lugia, Celebi, Ho-oh, Mew, and the Dogs.

Finally...My favorite game in the entire Pokemon series is back in action...

I am in that group of those who skipped it, and this is great news, because (besides me getting to play it and kick Blue's butt) then we know what badges will come after the Energy Season at leagues and the PT Battle Frontier!

I never got to play the games. Earliest I got was FR. I want a way to catch wild Celebi and Mew. Lugia, Ho-oh would be nice to. But what they would really need to do is put the legendary dogs in WITHOUT a glitch that makes the IVs permanently suck.

Ah, Gold and Silver. This is when the monster known as Tyranitar was born! Several generations later and hes still holding his own.

The only generation with 2 gym circuits. That made the game for me. If they do remake GS, I hope they keep the two gym circuits. It'd be cool to see the gyms updated with new DP pokemon too.

I'd pay $100 for a DS Pokemon game that had all 4 generations on there with 4 gym circuits, and gyms being able to be rebattled after the elite four in each area is defeated.

I'm sure that with a somewhat different chip they could fit at least 8 gigs on the cartridge like a SDHC card... But to keep the normal format:

Diamond/Pearl are on a 512-megabit card (64 megabytes). The largest DS game made has been on a 256 megabyte card.

Using the already used technology, you could fit 4 Sinnoh-sized regions (each with their own unique 3d objects, and probably fully render every pokemon in 3d as well. (Pokemon Stadium 2 was a 64 megabyte cartridge, overestimating and saying that the entirety of that game was just the pokemon, their animations, and he attack animations, we multiply that by 2 for 128 megabytes (twice the size of the D/P games).

Therefore, using my extremely simplified math here:

1/2 of the cartridge could be the 3d files for the entire game.

The other half would consist of at least two regions.

Granted, the game would run slower than others, but a fix is in order for that:

The DS has 4mb RAM,

The DSi has 16mb RAM.

A 12 or 16mb RAM expansion for the DS's GBA slot would be sufficient to equal the DSi, significantly decreasing load times.

When not rendering 3d, the game would not need this expansion, so for the short procedure of choosing pokemon to transfer up from 3rd gen, a GBA game would be just fine in Slot 2.

Nintendo should hire me as a game designer. Miyamoto had no previous experience in video game design when he was hired... I think I fit that bill just fine!

I'm sure Gamefreak will add a new feature to the GSC remakes. Like how they added the Sevii Islands in FR/LG. But seriously, I hope the Sevii Islands are left out in the GSC remakes. Nor do I want another "Island region" gimmick. Maybe expand on the Whirl Islands for a bit. I really hope Cinnabar Island gets a facelift. I mean, just a pokemon center? C'mon, you gotta be kidding me. Hopefully with the DS's graphic capability they could make the devastated Cinnabar Island look a bit more like Stark Mountain in Platinum.

Also, They should make Giovanni appear, with or without Team Rocket. He's my favorite Pokemon Villain to date.
~Cyber~

How about this for an additional space?

Orange Islands!!!

Fans have been clamoring for this area to come out pretty much ever since it premiered on the anime, and it just looks like good, FUN minigames to break up the tedium of battling all the time...
