grandfathered professorships

I don't know Dave's cut-off for that last batch of grandfathering. If you filled out the form recently, please wait patiently for the next batch to be processed.

I'm not familiar with how he's handling European professors - I'll see if I can get an answer out of him. (And hopefully add it to the form page.) It might not be as quick, as we're working out details for organized play management for Europe (and Asia).

If you filled out the form awhile ago, *and* you were a professor/master professor, we'll need to work out why. I'll look into the process...I'm guessing you might not have been using the e-mail that was publicly available to us.

Players who are interested in becoming first-time professors - two things:
1) You will not need to be a professor to play in age 15+ tournaments. Don't apply if that's all you wanted.
2) We'll have a system up for you to become one in September.

Thanks all for your interest!

i submitted an application when it was first announced, but i didn't get a confirmation. could it be because i had already been given a ID and Password for being a League Leader? if so, then it'd be nice for me to still get an email about me being accepted into the professor program.

Also, I submitted an application when I first heard the news. Why were the first ones like us two not notified of acceptance?

Amazing as it seems my confirmation came through as well and I thought that over on this side of the pond the prof program(including grandfathering) would not be rolled out for ages! Obviously my prof application somehow got through the application filters! Anyone else from Europe got their confirmation? Or am I the first one?

How did you fill out the address fields, given their (yet) USA/Canada-only slant?? Specifically, what did you chose for the State/Province field (that's the only drop-down, the rest are free-form text fileds - although the phone number fields might be tricky)?

I'm also in, so that's two of us from Europe.
I put "SC" for state (little do they know that that secretly stands for Scotland), and missed the leading "0" off of my phone number - they would have to drop that for international dialing anyway.

I just now received the following message from [email protected]
Your Professorship application is approved!
Welcome to the ranks of Pokémon Professors! As a professor, you qualify for our benefits program rolling out this October.
We look forward to working with you

That is cool to that you have heard back from Nintendo. I put in my application the first day it was up and nothing yet :(. O well if I dont hear from them by Sept. I will just send in my application again. It is nice knowing they are working on the program.

I got an email too, but like Otaku, mine said I wasn't accepted. But there was an email address listed that you could contact if you had any questions. So I emailed and got a response saying that it was most likely the database they are using, it is pretty new and may have been the problem. The email went on to tell me what I should do.

So if you got an email saying that you weren't accepted, you may want to email the address given and see if it was a mistake or not.

Hmmm... ditto; I sent my info when it was first mentioned and I haven't gotten a word on it either. Hmmmm...

I basically filled in as much as poss. The drop down I think I put AL for state and missed one digit off the phone no. All the important details I was able to get on to the form.Of course if the leagues/tourneys dont kick off for months on this side of the pond then my user id and password will be pretty much useless for months anyway!

No news yet for me.

[edit:] I just got an e-mail. So I'm in.

Umm... can you e-mail me the e-mail address Magmar: as I said, mine must have gotten deleted. >_<

I think that I am going to wait till the first of next week to see if I get a email one way or another. If not then I will just resubmit my information for the Professor Program.

Prof. Notification

Has anyone heard from Nintendo after registering to have their professorship grandfathered? I haven't.

I did receive a notification that my application has been accepted and welcoming me into the new Prof. Prog.

Hey all,
I can answer some of the questions here, as I'm the one doing the approving (ahh, the power is amazing!).

The reason for the delay, and the main reason some of you who registered early and have seen others approved prior to you is because the only method of verification we have is the old WotC professors list. Add to that, that many, many people aren't too keen on reading directions, and we've received applications for professorship from nearly as many non-professors as we have professors.

This has made the reviewing process very, very slow and has forced me to take some steps to speed up the process that have taken applications out of order.

If you have been denied, and you were a prior professor (you MUST be on the last WotC list) please email me at [email protected], and we'll look into it.

As for non North American residents, you are being treated just like every other professor. I am approving you if you were previously on the list. I do apologize for the fact that the country selections were not complete, but nonetheless, if you've filled in your info, you've been approved.

Our webmaster has been given a very large list of 'to do' items, including getting your 'edit profile' pages up and running. This'll allow you to change your password, user ID, address, phone, email, etc.

By October, we hope to have the professor pages fully operational with all benefits intact and ready to go.

Also, please note that being a league leader is in no way linked to being a professor (on the website). So, your league leader ID is just that, and is separate from your Professor ID.

I hope that helps, and thanks for the patience. I'm just about through the current list.

Prof. Dav
