Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Hardest Video Game Ever

Super Ghouls 'n' Ghosts for SNES took me an entire summer to beat... such an unnecessarily frustrating game. After you get through all the levels the first time, you have to play through the game AGAIN, only this time you have to pick up a special (bad) weapon along the way and beat the final boss. You also don't get to save, so you have to play through the whole thing in one sitting.

Yo! Noid and Back to the Future for NES were also insanely difficult/terrible.

Ghouls n' Ghost definitly.... this is the one game that made me toss controllers in anger more than any other.... Good call!!!

8 is the only FF game that I've played where the Grind took over the Story. Grind isn't necessarily a bad thing. But when the entire game is Grind, that's bad.

I can agree with that.

However, I found that if you wanted to enjoy the story, the best option to take was to max out Shiva, Quezacotl, and Ifrit (Not necessary) in the beginning, praying on groups of 2-3 Fastitocaln-Fs at 3AP a pop. Refine the dropped Water Crystals into Water, and draw Blizzards early. I found that within an hour I had Shiva with 40%+ SumMag learned, and was able to take down the T-Rexaurs early too. I was level 30 and I wasn't even a SeeD yet.

The other route to take was to max out Squall's weapon early. I forget the items needed, but I know Pulse Ammo you can get by refining 20 Elvoret cards. I think the other could be gotten at a low level outside Timber. You could theoretically blow through the game with the Lionheart gunblade at that point before getting to Disc 2.

I also liked that except for those two islands, the monsters followed the levels, roughly. You couldn't fight Level 1 Bite Bugs for eternity, they eventually rose in level as you grew too. The rest also did that.

If you're leveling in FF8, ur doin it rong. The enemies scale their levels to match yours.

BTW, it's possible to 100% draw all the Ga level spells before becoming a SeeD. Problem is that the Grind session necessary to get that is longer than the rest of the game...

I used the leveling to force the Draw menu to increase to Ra and Ga options.

I managed to be set for the rest of the game in just under 2 hours, and that's only because the encounter rate was really low for 20 minutes (I had been scaling the beach and got through two full back-forths before a battle).

I thought that deciding when and how to Grind is what made it tough.

While still being at level 1, you can get all of the Ga level spells as well as a few other useful spells (like Double) before becoming a SeeD.

I think I remember that trick from a long time ago. If that's the case, then yeah I could definatley see why it would take so long.

I average about 63 hours per FF game to satisfy my gaming needs. This usually includes beating the game, and a fair amount of sidequests.

It's designed into the game. The Card Game. It's not a trick, not a gimmick. The game was designed to be played that way. And that bugs me beyond belief...

Oh THAT? I thought you meant the other "Card" trick.

I was referring to switching Quezacotl between characters, KO'ing one for the end of the battle so only one got the experience and AP. Then, once card is learned, just Card EVERYTHING. You build up card stock and still earn AP, but no experience.

The dead character averaged out the one used for Q's AP, to make all of the enemies lower leveled and easier to card.

The Game

Doh! I lost the game!

(Yeah, I know it's not a video game but it is the hardest game ever, you will lose at least once in your life)

^ this

on side i lost the game:mad:

anyway call of duty finest hour seriously (stupid sewers and/or tank level afterward)

fire emblem games (minus sacred stones)

advance wars days of ruin got stuck every other level was stuck on one level for like halve a year XD

ill post some more later i would like to state i am good at games in geeral
..... o yeah nuzelock challenge on firered/leafgreen (stupid weedle)
and how could i forget raidient historia

The final mission in Days of Ruin was one of the hardest final levels I'd ever played. Other levels were pretty challenging, but suffer from the "know how to beat it" syndrome when played through the second time. (The final mission still seems to get away from that though)

You know...come to think of it, I'm not sure I ever beat Days of Ruin...the whole game kinda just bogged down on me compared to the more upbeat and fun previous Advance Wars titles. Speaking of which, they're overdue for a new one...loved that series.

When I was younger I found Kingdom Hearts to be kind of hard as well as the original Paper Mario for the N64. ( Still own a N64 so I still want to one day beat Paper Mario :p) I also find all FPS games to be hard, they make me feel kind of sick due to the camera view and all.

Demon's Souls anyone?
I don't understand why whenever you die, you lose half your health AND the enemies become stronger Dx

Obviously Elmo's Number Journey.
