Health Insurance for all...

I believe the system as we know it doesn't work between insurance and the health care industries but I don't believe that the govt. should be any part of this other than to make some regulations.

It's also not just "unhealthy" people that run up the cost of health care. It's also the idiots that run to the doctor every time they have a cold. Oh, and let's not forget those healthy athletic people that run up the cost as well with their sports injuries, MRIs, physical therapy, etc.

Most of the poverty level people in this country have access to Medicaid. As for the middle class that are not insured, I believe this goes along with personal responsibility. You look around at America and how people live beyond their means but they have a nice new car in the driveway and credit cards all charged up from trips to the mall and yet they complain about not having health insurance. Why? Because they want to whine and have someone else take care of what they should be doing. Going to the mall or on vacation to Disney is so much better than paying for health insurance.

If Obama is your hero... well your hero wanted to bill our veterans' private insurance company if he could for services they received at the VA hospital. He only dropped the plan after it became apparent that it would not go over well.

Yes, the system is broken but it will continue to be, even the Messiah can't fix this one without making a bigger mess.

If you really have a bleeding heart and think all Americans should be taken care of ,use your time wisely and get involved in groups or a church. That's when people unite for a common cause in the community and help take care of each other rather than have some politician pick your pockets to do so... run the money through the system and come out with less than 10% of it by the time they are done handling it for us.

Knock that one around in your brain, everything our government "pays" for is just like someone coming up grabbing your wallet and then them deciding how much they are going to take out of it. Neat huh!

freeze: you don't think it's ridiculous that you must be considered to be living under the poverty level to receive health insurance? While I do agree that many people live outside their means you look pretty naive by generalizing everyone that doesnt have insurance that way =\

I'll give you an example - I met a lady that worked AT A HOSPITAL. She told me she couldn't get medicaid because she made too much and couldn't afford private health insurance because she made too little. She rented some small house for her and her daughter and drove some old 1990's Toyota. How is that living outside one's means? I mean, if you want to blame people's selfishness for not having health insurance you should blame all the doctors, pharmaceuticals, health insurance companies, and politicians who are driving ferraris and vacationing in the bahamas every other weekend. Don't blame the average joe.

It's probably not, he doesn't seem to be in a painkiller induced stupor. He should be in prison, but I guess if you're a trolling loudmouth, you can get away with anything. Oh and before I get attacked for trashing a republican hero, I'll just say that I hate all political pundits equally. Bill Maher is a little harder to make fun of, but he's just as much of a polarizing, loudmouthed jerk.

He's right though, we shouldn't be stuck with the bill. There's too many people this country who wait until forever to get treatment and end up in the emergency room where everything costs 3 times as much simply because its the emergency room. Then us as consumers end up paying for it in higher treatment costs for our own problems, or the government ends up paying for it. I mean, we end up paying for it. The bill just keeps getting passed along somewhere until it's paid in full. If anything the feds should take some responsibility for their actions when they force health care to provide for people who can't pay and figure out how to lower costs so the bills are at least a little more bearable.
