I agree, these guys beat anything... as long as they dont face donphan of course, nothing that lanturn can`t solve anyway.

Simisear or Samurott can take the 6 prize cards in just 3 turns against them, unless mew stars the game, I find it quite difficult for it to win, the jirachi and shaymin combo might work if you have enough luck... but is luck after all.

Would you mind telling me how you are going to take 2 prizes per turn? Also no one plays simisear and samurott is a stage 2 so all mewgar has to do is get 2-3 engergies attached to it and use hurl into darkness before you can get samurott out.

^ lol, get 2-3 energies attached to a 60 hp pokemon against a pokemon like Samurott that can dish out more than 70 a turn. Have fun with that

I wanted to say that in my testing even when you say a deck has a favorable matchup its not like it has a 90 percent win rate there is still a lot of skill and luck involved and most decks don't have a true mightaswellscoop auto loss.

You do realize Mew is a basic pokemon turn 1 see off theres 1 energy. Turn 2 attach another energy and use hurl into darkness for 2 pokemon. Now my opp can get a samurott if they have it and rare candy in hand.

Ok? Even if it goes second and gets see off the other person will be down an energy unless you use double colorless. But starting oshawott, rare candy, samurott, double colorless and another energy seems pretty hard to do.

Mew has to rely on Mime Jr./Slowking when it starts running behind on energy. Which is pretty much after the first one has been KOed. Maybe they'll get 2 or 3 more Mews with an energy on it. But they have to pull a lot of strings to get that sixth Pokemon in the Lost Zone.

If the first Mew doesn't manage to get 2 Pokemon in the Lost Zone, which I will say is about %80 of the time, or doesn't go first then it's a very uphill battle against any deck. Even when they do get it, it's not the easiest game either. When it doesn't happen that way, they rely more on Mime Jr. hitting tails so it stays asleep, then wakes up going back to their turn. Honestly, this deck is a little over hyped. It may be Tier 1, but a lower one at that.

What's the point of saying that you found an underrated card that can kill most top tier decks on a thread discussing HGSS-on top decks when you don't reveal what it is. Trolls be trolling tbh.

Whats with the theorymonning on Mewgar? A friend of mine who has been running Mewgar for quite some time (Top cut Indiana States) altered it to this metagame and got manhandled by Speed Zekrom. Magneboar gives it a rough time too as you can pretty much just go RDL aggro on its butt to match its speed (since you know, Mewgar does no damage)

I still have absolutely no reason to believe that Mewgar/Lostgar/Crapgar/whatever is Tier 1.

RDL only has to attack 3 times too, so that's less time to find whatever counter Mew plays.

RDL is very hard and slow to setup. You need to...

1. Get RDL out on the field without pieces of him getting lost zoned.
2. Get Emboar out, which if you candy can be devolved using Jirachi then lost zoned the next turn.
3. Attach 3 fire and a lighting energy, the latter you won't always have.

Other points...

There is no consistent or reliable way to search him out due to RDL being a Legend. Even if RDL does prove to be problematic a Bouffalant or Cinccino tech could easilly be used.

RDL is more of a late game tech when you've gone through most of your deck. There's a good chance of it getting lost zoned.

I've been testing MewGar specifically against MagneBoar and the deck actually does pretty well against it. While playing MagneBoar, I only managed to get RDL with Emboar out once (and of course won that game), but the other 10 or so games before that, an RDL piece was always gone before I had time to play it. MewGar is not an easy matchup and you have to play very smart against it. For example, your hand isn't too great and won't allow you to set up (rare candies, energies, etc) but you have no Pokemon in there. You have a Cleffa, which could net you cards like Collector, Communication, etc, but also puts you at risk for having a Pokemon in your hand to be lost zoned away. At the same time, you can expect them to have Spiritomb or Judge to shuffle your hand anyway. What do you do? The answer depends on the field, but to make the right call requires thought and careful playtesting. If the MagneBoar player can get out a stage 2 in the 2nd turn, the MewGar player will likely have a lot of difficulty in winning the matchup, but otherwise, it's not as easy as you're making it.

Just apply heavy pressure against mewgar even when you go first... Thats key to throwing off the balance with his collecter cause he will spend time trying to set up a second mew right when you start putting pressure on it.
I think if you have a speed deckw ith stage 1 evos you should be fine against lost gar, but having a tepig and then having Emboar in your hand isnt a good thing. Thats why to tech against Lostgar, I have 2 Junipers, 2 Junkarms, and 2 revives. So I junk arm the pokemon or juniper out the T-plosion and then revive it when I need it. It kinda works but I dont see any other way.

You can't revive a Typhlosion

And I'm not sure what player you've been playing against, but heavy discarding isn't going to necessarily save you. Most of the time I lost zone someone's Pokemon, it's after having judged or spiritombed them (or cleffa'd if they took that risk), or by using cursed droplets on any cleffas/magnemites on the field. And if you're discarding all of your key pokemon, what are you going to beat me with? Donphan is really the biggest problem the deck has, but usually if I see a Phanpy I'll try to set up Gengar because I know it survives longer.

Oh I musnt have read the card carefully my bad. I would stick with the heavy pressure I guess from reshiram and just try to ko all your pokes before you lost zoned all my pokemon.
I dont know if this is a good tech or not but when I use Ursaring to discard the top card of your deck, I was thinking of putting in 1 slowking with second sight to be able to knockout your lost zones. That might be a tech to think about, not a very good one tho. Eh, Idk then, I hope I dont play lostgar at Nats, that would be a pain.

Mewgar has had a good record against setup decks like Reshiram. I feel that it can handle the top decks easily, but it has some issues against the faster decks(Zekrom, Donphan(seems 50-50 meh).
