Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Houston, Texas Regionals - TWO DAY event

Somehow I find it fitting that the Regional Champions from the past two years have lived in central Texas.

Alaka is going to have to swear off pokemon now that he had a donkfest even without Gyarados involved...

congrats Alex, I feel happy you won after getting you on time previously :)

You know, last time I checked, there was some pretty big construction on the highway loop over in Lubbock., not to mention the driving time.

But, we shall see.

Well that's nice then.

There is a nice area w/a couple of hotels and a neighboring Wal-Mart and a couple of restaurants.

Thanks to all that came out for Regionals. I'm very busy today so I don't have to post all the numbers and winners but I will tonight.

Have a good day.

regionals 2012 American Airlines Center (AAC) downtown dallas FTW!!!!!:thumb:

I'm definitely down with that.

Congrats to Alex for winning, and Rokman for getting 2nd. I'm not disappointed at all with my 4th place finish, there was a lot of quality players in Top Cut

Great event! Well ran, flowed well, and was a TON of fun. Thanks Mike and Mia!

Just a question: How long should it take before the tournament is uploaded?

Great Event Team Cook!! The Staff was AMAZING and everything ran smooth.... which is ALWAYS a great sign!!

So much FUN and got to see all my Poke-Family which is always nice! Proud of my Son for getting 5th overall... and Old Dad here went 5-3 and had some Great matches!! So much fun!!

Congrats to all the Winners!

I had a great time at the event both days; there are no complaints from me whatsoever. Speaking of "both days," I want to thank Mike Cook for deciding to expand the event out into a multi-day affair. After actually experiencing the top 8 portion of the cut on day 2, I can't imagine going back to playing 5 rounds into the wee hours of the morning all on day 1. I hope that next year the same decision to go with 2 days is made.

On a side note, I am admittedly a bit haunted by the idea that the raffle ticket I never did check may have been for something as awesome as a water bottle. It is difficult to sleep at night knowing I may have thrown that away!

What an amazing event!! After sleeping until 9:00 AM this morning, I think I am almost recovered and ready for pre-releases. Thanks and props to:

  • Mr. Mike and Ms. Mia for putting on another awesome show!! Can't say enough about these two.
  • Jeff Harris for being a great head judge - and fun to work with!
  • The entire judging staff for doing a great job while having a great attitude - and making me laugh.
  • Birch and Jeff for being my sounding boards for rulings.
  • All my masters judges who are excellent judges and did exactly what I asked them to do without complaint.
  • All the players who came to the event. Y'all are the reason for everything done!! And thanks for making us the 2nd largest Regionals (behind Northwest by less than 10 people!)
  • All the parents who drove all the players to regionals - you are the BEST!
  • Everyone who gave me a hug.
  • All the players who came dressed-up or in Pokemon t-shirts (some of their own making)
  • My kids who take care of themselves and let me do my job.
  • April for having a good attitude. (she knows)
  • Randy for checking up on me and making sure I'm OK. (have water, food, ibuprofin, etc)
  • Trish and Ro for keeping me up-to-date on other Regionals around the country.
  • Kevin (he knows)
  • Rokman and Alex for making me laugh (a LOT) during top 2.
  • Fish, Fish, Fish, Spitter - and everyone else - for bandaids.
  • Drury Inn for the nice, comfy bed at the end of a long day.
  • Space Cadet Collection for hosting top 8. Amazing store!! (I love my pikachu watches)
Thanks to everyone who participated in this event in any way. Let's do it again next year!!
