Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

How to beat PLOX?

Boy... I actually thought someone dug up a thread from 2 years ago until I saw the date. lol

Plox: No matter how many times you kill it, the darn thing just keeps coming back. :D

the best way to beat it is wait for the rotation hahaha.

You got me travis. That was funny

I almost spit my drink out reading that one.

On topic ____ PorygonZ LvX deck with a 2-2 Mismagius SF tech.

It can't attack without losing it's attacker.

They HAVE to psychic lock instead of using the Gallade because you get to discard all their DCE w/ your LvX. Mismagius one shots, both, Gallade and Gardy while tossing away EBelts and your own Qs and Gs (to be recycled onto your Spiritombs later).

For more fun, run your Uxie line 3-1 (1 LvX) for a greater threat on the Gardy and Gallades.

Gallade is also weak to psychic. G&Gs downfall is that it has to build 3 attachements w/o DCE, so you exploit that.

The problem is that GG can pretty much tech anything. Mewtwo Lv.X, Giratina, Azelf Lv.X (goodbye obvious psychic counters), Mesprit, Dusknoir, Nidoqueen... The list goes on. It's pretty much the only deck consistently getting the techs out due to Gardy's power (even the Lv.Xs thanks to Teleportation).

KOing it early on can also prove hard if they just get their Roseannes in place. They can usually give up 2-3 prizes and still come on top of most decks due to locking other decks in place and taking cheap prizes in the lategame.

Generally I use Uxies to cause problems to GG myself. They do 50, go under the deck (not KO'd back, and also helps against Dusknoir) and whenever Plox ceases, you can get them back and draw to 7.

Still, Plox is nothing to underestimate and will definitely be seen at Worlds once again. Hey, the deck almost won Finnish nats Masters division three times in the row (placed 2nd this year, won 2 previous nats), so it's still nothing to underestimate.

for all those who said its rotating, its not its just coming back in a funnier form. grumpig from clash at the summit can do plox for 2 energy wit ha 20 output. stage 1 with one less energy requirement = faster plox without relying on DCE.

A bet you anything after this post the sales of Bacon are going to increase big time.

Except it only does 20 damage, is on a stage 1 with terrible HP, and the attack was already struggling to be good enough at a 60 damage output. It won't go anywhere.

Also no Gallade, and no Telepass which are two great things about Plox. You'll be 3-4 shotting with Grumpig with Expert Belt. I don't think it'll go anywhere. But it'll get played, hyped, worried about etc most probably.

The best PLOX killer was Blissey MT. If you're worried about a bench sitting Garde X just add Drifblim FB. With DCE that card is a good tech. LEGOs shuts it down really hard as well.

its a decent attacker though, til you set something else up. original plox used jirachi ex for similar purposes did it not?

Combining Psychic Lock and Bench Manipulation makes for a pretty interesting card. Stage 1 means it'll be a little quicker than Gardy was and combining both attacks on one card means you don't need both Gardy and Gallade to be effective. P and DCE and you can swing hard or lock whenever you choose.

Interesting. Good, maybe not, but interesting.

never said it was good, just definatly back and in a funnier form.

i lol'd when i first saw it.

Then you got that Blackbelt supporter, that makes losing fun. For an increased 40dmg on attacks when behind.
I think this card is interesting as well, but I'm more interested in the newer Solrock on it's way that has a body that prevents all healing when Lunatone is out, and this Lunatone SV makes both of them immune to LvX's. Since that grumpig can spread, I think this might be the newer form of plox, with a combo of sol and lun.

Grumpig doesn't spread. It does all its damage to the active. Bench Manipulation: flip a coin for each of your opponent's Benched Pokemon, does 40x number of heads.

Banette PL works pretty well. They can only kill it by gallading (or by you running out of psychic energies) and giving up the psychic lock. Then you have a lot more options.

AMU + Mew Prime + Grumpig is next format's Plox.

Belted Mew Prime with Snowpoint Temple and Azelf Lv.X has 100hp. Lost Zone'd Grumpig will make sure that Plox is always available for 2 energies (that's what Energy pickup is for).

Mesprits can keep the lock and act as "Gallade" of the deck (Supreme Blast) to take care of Dialga G Lv.Xs.

Uxies draw. Azelf takes off the weakness and important prized pokémons. You can even evolve Grumpig from Spoink if you feel that Machamp is a bit too much for the deck.

Questions?

I was thinking that Kingdra Prime might team up well with grumpig. One to powerlock, the other to snipe.

But back on topic for a sec, for if plox does get reincarnated, the best thing to do is target their weakness. Correct me, If i maybe wrong.
