How to tech against terrakion with zekeels.

Pinsir discards the opponents energy. But that energy is easily retrieved with those three cards. Especially energy retrieval. If you flip both heads you'd have a one turn advantage. But that's all. Once each benched terrakion has one energy, they are pretty much set up.

maybe I'm misunderstanding something...
 
Yeah, energy retrieval (even a one of) basically ruins Pinsir. And I've actually seen a lot of Terrakion decks that play an energy retriever (which is a great idea regardless of Pinsir running around or not)
 
If active Terrakion has no energy, how are they winning? If they put two on a benched one, Catcher it. Otherwise, set-up Mewtwo/Zekrom and get them fully powered. Pinsir gives you unlimited time to set-up. Energy Retrieval/Super Rod and Fisherman in no way change that. They are still trying to catch-up on their first Terrakion and still not taking prizes.

You are. I don't play terrakion and want to tech against zekeels. I play zekeels and want to tech against terrakion. fail.
 
Virizion EP + Eviolite + PlusPower is an entertaining way to deal with Terrakion. Just keep using Giga Drain to heal all the damage!
 
Attach Eviolite to a Mewtwo. Don't drop a Mewtwo if you can't Eviolite it the same turn. Attach a DCE to the Mewtwo. Dynamotor x2, Pluspower. OHKO the active Terrakion. Switch, Dynamotor xX, sweep.

NEVER play down a Zekrom EX. If you happen to start with it you might as well scoop. If they KO your Zekrom EX early to mid game you will be too far behind on the prize trade off to recover from the game at all.

The Virizion strategy is alright but it won't do you any good If they are running Landorus which has :water: Weakness instead of :grass:. Even If they switch into Landorus you can still take advantage of Giga Drain and trying to 2HKO Terrakions.
