Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Hurricane- Which version is better: the Delcatty/Magneton build or the Claydol build?

you're right but DM version can't deal ohkos EVERY turn i really think that the claydol version stands toe to toe with DM version but i would give the match to DM unless the claydol build had BF

Reason why Claydol version can do better against other decks. Battle Frontier 2-3 would be bad against Mag or DWD(which dosent see much play).

Trainer line makes and breaks this deck, only thing I would worry bout.

you forgot togekiss which is popular because it get's lucky but does little else, and any random porygon z, i don't think anyone actually showed up at states with porygon 2 just for support but if they do it counters that too

LOLolollllllLOLlllLOL.
It's the opposite.
Claydol can't deal OHKOs EVERY TURN. Delcatty/Magneton can. (and they do)

he didnt mean that claydol deals onehit kos he was correcting the person above him for saying that delcatty magneton deals onehit kos every turn LOLOLOLOLOLLLLLLL

no it doesn't i've played it myself and i've played more than one other player with it including chriscobi who came in seconds at states with it and no it does not deal ohkos every turn i will play you if you want to prove that it does, i won't even play gardy because of how it loses to gardy, but i will play something that's decently fast and has high hp just to give a fair example of how it doesn't consistantly ohko

I think you have to admit that I didn't deal OHKO because I was under the lock. When I played against your Gyarados deck I got you for the OHKO on the Gyarados and still attached for turn. So had I needed the energy I wouldn't have attached and gotten the OHKO on any 140 HP pokemon.

Delcatty/Magneton = OHKO

Claydol = Slightly more consistent, but no OHKO here.

you're right about the lock, and beleive me i refer to you with the utmost respect if anyone made me beleive hurricane is good it's you, i'm just saying that saying ohkos every turn after set up is a bit of an exaguration, we've played games with all different decks and i beleive in a game vs banette there was a turn you couldn't ohko a banette not every game can go perfectly is what i'm trying to say

it's just like inferncatty, people claimed they can deal 150 a turn, and while that is possible with a really good list and it can be done fairly consistantly, it's still a bit of a stretch to say that it deals 150 a turn after setup does anyone know what i mean?

as for the match vs gyrados, i commend you because regardless of what i was playing you didn't draw your optimal opening hand at all but you still setup huge damage that could have ohkoed anything in the format, pretty early in the game too from what i recall

I played the claydol version at MS states and I can't say how good it was because my palkia x combo just pretty much won me that game, but I found out one thing for sure: if you take away the supports for the Gatrs, the Gatrs can't eat you anymore.

Say word...

HURRICANE for 8th place eastern Canada regionals
only reason i didnt make it further was because ..
top 16 ... 10 were GG .. there were two hurricanes in
top 16 both delcatty/magenton engines .. so im saying
claydol aint got nothing on this .. and my list is gonna be
up on a post ..

the better deck will depend on your own preferences, maybe you want 4 of one thing and three of another. and someone else will want it vice versa. it all depends on preferences.

Claydol>DM IMO, because there's more room for draw and energy since it runs less pokemon and no windstorm. It can also run 4 Steven and have no fear of not being able to play them. Almost every deck out there will have at least 3 pokes in play. 2 Cosmic Pwrs+Steven/Felicity=more draw power than DM. Not to mention the added Croconaw pulls you'll get from running more energy. I've played A LOT with both versions and I will agree that DM has higher damage output mid-late game but is harder to set up and easier to disrupt. I set up faster with Claydol and can do more damage early game. And with Claydol it isn't hard for my version to OHKO every turn. Although it can miss the OHKO like once or twice a game. Here's my current and probably final list since I can't think of any more improvments using current sets, Enjoy:

4/3/4 Feraligatr MT
3/3 Claydol GE
4 Pachirisu GE
1 Plusle SW

3 Celio
2 Roseanne
4 Steven
2 Felicity
3 Candy
2 Master Ball
1 Night Maintenance
1 Warp Point

13 Water
4 DRE
2 Cyclone
1 Scramble

Claydol w/ Gatr just doesn't seem right. I play Catty/Ton for the OHKO's. How the heck are you supposed to get an OHKO on a Flygon ex d with Claydol as your support? It's not gonna happen. 2 Delcatty on the bench (a typical set up) will get you 6 cards per turn, plus you can take those energy back with Ton. Battle Frontier is a poses a slight problem, but with other decks having C, D or M powers, You shouldn't run into any you can't get rid of.

Your list is very similar to mine. The only difference is that I play Plus Powers/Stregth Charms to OHKO 130 HP pokemon. It was very consistant and would be an AMAZING deck if it didn't have an auto-loss to Gardy.
