Actually, now I'm confused. I thought non-Americans hated the US because we have "Hitler" Bush in power who created a war for oil, and not because we're just the latest entry in an age old battle?

Many non-Americans hated us *before* we went to war. It's the additude. This "we're the only one that matters" additude. Which is exactly what comes out when people make statements that sound like we're the only country to have "terror" attacks recently.

I didn't hear squat from world organizations when the four Americans were burned in Falluja, or when the Americans were beheaded recently... but when two insubordinate American soldiers humiliate (as in not kill) Iraqi prisoners in Abu Ghraib, it turns one of the greatest political scandals of the war.

Here's the major difference (there are a bunch of minor ones, but I won't go into them right now, I'm late as it is)... Those who are working to behead individuals (not only Americans, btw...) are not a country or a government. They're a group of people, yes - And I'd like to think that if they had representation in the UN or such, there'd be plenty of complaining going on. As far as the "prison scandle" goes, when it becomes apparent that it wasn't just "two insubordinate" soliders, but many more - quite possibly following orders... that's when the international outcry comes in. (Mind you, wern't we the ones who were getting all ticked off when "they" were abusing our POWs and such just a while ago?)
