Ok im going to bed, I have to get up really early tommorow and I cant wait for answers, I guess thats me off the contest list... :(

@Tehmoe: Anything you put in counts toward your 16, unless your list has too few cards.

@Teleri: No, you just need to send the NEW decklist with changes and strategy.

THAT KID. Took out the candy, added all sorts of fire type crap with no fire energy, took out the crucial cherrim line, took out the uxie for a 2-2 claydol..... I swear, he's just trying to tick me off. I'm only allowed to change 16 cards? Cause I think he put in more than 16 illegal cards :/

Never mind, saw the fire energy in a random spot but WHY? Also that kid never thanked me for helping him, nor did he answer my question about his prefered name. How rude. ( Just kidding Ra, I know you have a lot of these to grade and I don't expect you to answer a question to a non exsisting person)

Honestly, I'm just proud of the kid for not putting in Mismagius GL Lv. X when he could have, because if I were just starting, I would totally put it in, psychic energy/poke tools be damned

New players make newbie mistakes. I should know. I played MTG for the first time a few weeks ago, and I KNOW I made many newbie mistakes, both in my deckbuilding and in my playing. Heck, I could've WON one of my matches during that Sealed if I had remembered that I can play cards during my opponent's turn!

Be patient with the kid. Explain things ad nauseum. You never know when that lightbulb will appear over the newbie's head and they finally get it. Those are my favorite moments. You can almost see the little hamster stop spinning its wheel and start running for itself, the lightbulb that finally turns on. "Oh, this card is GOOD?" "THIS is how you use that?" "Pokemon that don't attack actually HELP me!" Those are the moments I LIVE for as a LL and LO. When something, even if it's minor, finally clicks in a new player's head.

In this deck, I've got to take out 19 of my 23 spots just for illegal cards. Still trying to figure out exactly where I want to take this deck. I've got a half-formed idea, but it'll be weird to say the least...

My kid gave me a charizard but the 4 charmander are from set that has been rotated. It's too bad I have to tell him he cannot use his charizard line. the line ratio is decent. 4-2-1.
I am still not sure what changes I need to make.

Yeah, Magic is all about taking opportunities whenever you can. I remember the first time I saw Power Spray coming back into Pokémon and I thought, "Hey, this is a whole lot like Counterspell!"

Now that I do think about it Pokémon and Magic have a whole lot in common.

Drop Powers = Coming into play abilites
Once Per Turn Powers = Tap abilites
Power Spray = Instant spells (see Counterspell)
etc, etc.

In any case, I gotta say sifting through that binder for usable cards took a lot of effort. Found some gems here and there, though.

still no list ra i checked my inbox nout

Sent again :)

my kid's deck only has 37 cards if i add 16 to that it still wont be playable

My list is also way short on cards, I'm assuming I can add until I have 60, but only change 16 of the cards that are already there?

Also, as far as the x-x-x rule, would it be better if it we did like...1-1 Claydol (SV/GE)? Or do you want us to go: 1 Baltoy SV 1 Claydol GE, etc?

Thanks RA!

Resent New Lists! You probably got the deletions and not the additions the first timea around.

still doesnt answer my question, does adding 3 energy count to the 16 card limit?

Yes. Once you go down to 60. ANY change to that original list adds to your 16 card limit. An energy card is still a card.

Only send the "FINAL" /revised list. Thanks.

What HE said. (thanks ayamehikaru)

You are SO funny!

wait my list only has like 40 cards does this mean i can only add?

I'll resend. But, if that is the case, you add the 20 (and get 6 free spots!)

CARDS YOU CAN USE:

You can add up to 6 Pokemon Uncommon/Commons from PL and LA.

Does that mean I can use 3 of the same card from these sets? I hope so, because that's what my whole strategy revolves around. :/

For example, if I wanted, could I use 3 Bidoof PL?
