Is Chandelure worth it without Beach?

I think if Chandy wants to survive it's going to have to figure out how to work without Beach. With the fact that we're actually getting more Stadiums, it'll be a bit of a competition to keep something out there.

Post-ND decks will actually be running stadium cards, so it'll be harder to keep Tropical Beach in-play.

You'll probably see a shift towards being more aggressive with Tropical Beach, to step up as fast as possible and start antagonizing your opponent with Eerie Glow more often. Doesn't diminish Tropical Beach's inherent usefulness, just means you won't have the luxury of sitting on it an entire game, or the number of Tropical Beaches in your average build will increase.

Some builds were running as many as 3 before now, I'm sure it will be fine.

I play chandyplume without beach and I love t. Ive beaten all sorts of decks from durant to magnezone. The only deck i have trouble with is 6 corners. In particular, kyurem. I think its totally worth building the deck. Ill be taking it to cities this saturday.

that being said if I did have beach i would run at least 2 but the deck can play really well without it. just think about hand refreshment.

If you have another card you can actually attack with I'd say you don't have to have beach, but the deck is better with beach.

My buddy did a bit of playtesting of ChandyPlume without Beach. It works perfectly fine, actually. However, there are two changes to operations.

First, Luring Light is vastly more important. You spend more turns getting heavy retreaters than before, as your priority is Vileplume and then Chandelure afterwards.

Second, you'll need more energy. Regular attachments are more important as you'll want to make up by doing more later game damage.

I'm doing ChandyPlume without Beach right now. I do the same - set up Vileplume as fast as I can, then start building Chandelures.

I run Cheren, I find it pretty helpful.

Beach makes it better, but if you run a decent amount of draw (3-4 N, 2-3 PONT, 2-3 Copycat, 2 Juniper, etc.), you should be okay.

Short Answer: No.
Long Answer: Noooooooo.

If you want to play Chandelure and don't have a Tropical Beach or two, I would recommend playing it with the new Fire Type Chandelure that is coming out in Next Destinies. It's first attack is great, 30 to 3 Pokémon (one needing to be their active of course), so you will be attacking every turn, meaning you wouldn't want to play Tropical Beach in the first place.

New Stadiums will make counter stadiums a real issue. Chandelure probably could get in trouble if it relies on Beach going forward. We will see what the Stadium play starts to increase.

Beaches won't really drop in price because it's a Worlds promo. The price of Tropical Tidal Wave hasn't dropped at all, and it's barely playable!

Actually, as I've stated earlier, it's working perfectly fine. Now, in context, I've only played against Magnezone / Eelektrik, 6 Corners, and Coke in terms of testing, but Chandy with Beach versus Chandy without Beach has some operational changes, but in terms of win / lose ratio, there's really no noticeable difference. It's just some tweaking in terms of the play style, method of attachment, and more energy.
