My judging is perfect. I don't got easy on friends or hard on people i hate, i'm always the same. I always try and give the most correct answer for the situation.
Heh, the only perfect judge is one who doesn't judge very much.PokemonSteve said:My judging is perfect. I don't got easy on friends or hard on people i hate, i'm always the same. I always try and give the most correct answer for the situation.

M_Liesik said:To avoid the perception of impropriety, POP asks that family members not judge each other's matches.
Yes, though, again, make sure that you do not judge their matches.
PokePop said:Well, you just do the best you can.
Can't do anything more.
NoPoke said:I always try to do my best. But I do make mistakes, not often fortunately. However I'm most likely to make a mistake at the end of a long day when my concentration is wanning: just when it is needed most. That never seems to be particularly fair on ither the players or the staff. Pity we can't start the day with the finals when all the staff are nice and fresh!
M45: It is very common in the uk for the TO to be the only staffer.
So my concern is that someone may print out Mikes' post and start waving it under my nose saying that I can't judge my own children. My only response will be to encourage them to write to or email POP if they remain unhappy. I can't foresee the local situation changing much in the near future.

What are your kids SUPPOSED to do, not play _just in case_ you MIGHT have to make a ruling on one of their matches, in the name of 'fairness'? How is that fair to _them_?

P_A said:Pardon me?!! Let me ask this: Is this due to the local distributor being cheap, or because he's trying to encourage more players? Either way - he will lose them. The fact of the matter is, without any judges and tournament organizers to do what they do, the tournaments will be non-existant. How can you guys keep on doing this without being fairly compensated? I guess you must all have your leagues at Burger King, right? (Inside joke there, by the way.) I'll probably be the first to admit that the judge support and "headcount bounty" for judges, TO's and PTO's here in North America may seem a bit excessive, though I have to agree it has benefitted me. But when the TO's from other countries are treated in this fashion, that's certainly not fair.
This kind of information is best discussed in the Professor Forums on the POP boards.ukpokemonpro said:Our LD tells us we should get the same level of support as the US does... What we don't know is just what a TO gets for a CC in the states?
The kit in the UK is:
* 1 box of Boosters per age group - 3 boxes total or 98 packs
* 3 Goody Bags loaded with stuff
* POP series 2 Boosters
* CC Promos
* CC Badges
Are you saying there should be a booster box for Judge and TO support too just like last year?
ukpokemonpro said:It has struck me reading the other posts on Nationals Captain for Franch and the Elitism post that we as judges have to be very careful to maintain our impartiality.
So the questions I would like to ask you are:
Even with the best will in the world how do we keep impartial when a match involves a player from our team?
- What happens when a Judge who is a member of a secret team judges a match between a secret team member and another player?
- What happens when or if all the judges have a vested interest?
- Do they declare it or do they keep quiet?
- Who judges the judges and their impartiality?
