There are no evolved legendaries, the closest we have is Manaphy. On the other hand, I would very much approve of Manaphy EX, if we got one.

The main difference Manaphy has from other Legendaries is that it comes from an Egg and is able to breed (but not with other Manaphy) to birth Phione, which is also considered a Legendary, that is another Pokemon entirely and doesn't evolve into Manaphy. Since they are both Legendary Pokemon, either one of them could be an EX (albeit with low HP for an EX).

I know, that's why Manaphy isn't an evolved legendary, just the closest thing we have to one :)

The combination could work though. For example, imagine a Manaphy EX with an ability to let you search out Phiones from the deck and put them in the active position. Then give Phione some sort of interesting attack that you can realistically pull off in the same turn.

Here's a interesting fact about the Japanese box promos. While they are alternate arts of a holo in the set, there's something else I've noticed.

BW4: Volcarona
BW5: Ninetales
BW6: Flygon
BW7: Crobat

Volcarona is Gen 5, Ninetales is Gen 1, Flygon is Gen 3, and Crobat is Gen 2. It may or may not be a pattern but it could mean the box promo for BW8 is a 4th Generation Pokemon(which would also make said Pokemon a holo in either Spiral Force or Thunder Knuckle).

We need another card like Vileplume UD! Vanilluxe will be good again!

No we don't. What we need is more diversity, like have special conditions play a bigger role in the metegame. I know we have decks like Ninetales/Amoongus and Accelgor Variants, but they turned out to be trashy decks that don't really win you any tournaments.

Long story short, make one powerful deck that spreads, and one other deck that gives out special conditions (Flariados). I miss the good ol' Ruby and Sapphire Meta.

Don't forget, if we get the right homage we might have great use for a Deoxys EX; actually, if they get the proper "pumping up" and "updated references", they all look like they have great potential.

General things to consider is that the various "forms" had between 90 and 110 HP, and classical Pokémon-ex didn't break 120 HP if they were only Basic Pokémon, and that while it is possible the homage route will be ignored or butchered, things actually look pretty promising.

Deoxys ex (EX: Deoxys 97/107), a.k.a. "Normal Forme" has a half strength X-Ball style move, though with a less effective price. It is entirely possible they make it a "nerfed" Mewtwo EX... nerfed save for having Form Change... and that could still be well worthwhile.

Deoxys ex (EX: Deoxys 98/107), a.k.a. "Defense Forme" oddly has the lowest HP, but the effect of its (easy to pay by modern standards) attack is 50 damage and blocking the effects and damage of attacks from Pokémon EX. If the HP and damage done come up enough, its an alternative to Sigilyph.

Deoxys ex (EX: Deoxys 99/107), a.k.a. "Attack Forme" has an expensive version of X-Ball... but the differences could make that worth it if, as usual, it is appropriately updated and upgraded.

Deoxys ex (EX: Emerald 73/106) a.k.a. "Speed Forme" has what would an attack that ignores all effects on the Defending Pokémon plus Resistance, hitting for a then great 50 damage for three. Again, if they supersize this and just make the minimal wording updates, quite useful.

Hahahahahaha, no.

I will say, though, that the most intellectually simulating games of Pokemon I've played in the past year have all involved Vileplume (or Trainer lock) decks. The amount of skill required to keep track of what's prized, to calculate the probabilities of drawing into certain cards, to plan ahead in order to hit damage caps, etc. is far greater than the amount of skill required to pilot other types of decks in last year's format. In my opinion, Vileplume (and Gothitelle)-based decks were the most fun to pilot last year.

That being said, I only ran Vileplume-based decks at 2 of the 22 events I played last year. The inconsistency in setting up was a main reason why I typically stayed away from Vileplume.

So we have pretty much narrowed it down to

Suicune EX & Virizion EX.
So that leaves us with 2 More EX's to hit the 6 Ex per set bench mark.
Suicune EX
Virizion EX
Thunderus EX
Deoxys EX
5...?
6...?

They had Celebi EX & in Plasma Gale, Victini EX, and before that Shaymin EX.
I am calling Jirachi EX and KANGHASKAN! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Yeah I was wondering if anyone has a scan for the card in Japanese. If Thundy EX can bring back special energy that might be the sickest card in the format.
