Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Jirachi info for those who are interested

Just for the record:

Jirachi may be one of the rarest, but it definity not proven to be the most powerful when it comes to moves.

It learns a new move every 5 levels. The best of the bunch I have found is Psychic, Double-edge, Doom Desire, and Rest. I haven't tried TMs yet but it needs another Steel type attack to either replace or go along with Doom Desire.

Doom Desire, in case you are curious is learned at level 50 and is the last move Jirachi can learn on its own. It works like Future Sight, where you make the attack on one ture then two turns after it unleashes the attack on whatever opponent you have. It is powerful however complicated to use.

For a moveset, I personally like:

Jirachi:
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Calm Mind
Rest
@ Chesto Berry/Leftovers

If you feel confident that he can survive the Calm Mind setup with ease, go with Leftovers. If not, go with Chesto Berry. I don't really like Doom Desire... it's a really cool attack but hitting 2 turns later gives them a chance to switch... not to mention the 85% accuracy of the attack. For this moveset, a Modest (-Attack, + Sp. Attack) or Timid (-Attack, +Speed) nature should work nicely.

Jirachi is basically the new Celebi of the series. Not Mew. Why? Because Celebi was hurt badly by Houndoom. And with Colosseum and FR/LG close by, it won't be long before we see the Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Flamethrower, Cunch moveset on Houndoom again. That spells disaster for Jirachi due to its Psychic/Steel types. And just like Celebi, it isn't the strongest of the rare Pokémon.

Indeed. Mew and Mewtwo were the best of the rare pokemon, as they had only one type. However, Celebi and Jirachi still may put up good fights, as they can learn very good rare moves such as leech seed and heal bell for celebi, and doom desire for jirachi. Some people underestimate the future sight type attacks. The thing is, it really works well with Gardevoir, and doom desire for Jirachi. It ignores weakness and resistance, plus has a base damage of 90, and not to mention the unexpected time of attack. When used correctly with calm mind, attacks like these are very useful and powerful.

Hey, Rainbow Richards nice Avatar. When I examined the fact about you can't catch Feebas the same place when you still have the same Trendy Phrase as another person where he/she catches it. This is wrong. I had 3 people (including me.) test this, and when we fished at the same spot it was found at the same place with all 3 of us. On-Topic, wish I had Gamecube to download Jirachi, but I don't have it.

Is it possible to get a shiny Jirachi when you download it? I know the odds are low, but is it possible?
p.s. I got the speed-up berry on my ruby.
~nobody~

Possibly. It all depends on your chances and the stats of the Jirachi. Personally, I would hate to get a Shining Jirachi if I wanted to use it in battle. Shining Pokémon are weaker than their normal counterparts. :\ They're best saved for collectors.

I got the Ganlon Berry.

My ID is: 45807

So far I've seen the Ganlon and Salac Berry.

From what I've seen there are 5 other berries as well that you can get from Jurachi. More than likely depends on your ID no. *goes around Hoenn watering her berries*

Just figured I'd provide a little bit of information...

I uncovered 2 other than salac and ganlon. Petaya and Apicot. I might not be sure.

From the Jirachi Special Gift Download Instructions:
Insert the Pokémon Ruby or Sapphire Game Pak into a Game Boy Advance system and turn the power ON.

Make sure you've obtained the Pokédex and there is at least one free space in your party on your Pokémon Ruby or Sapphire Game Pak. If there are no free spaces in your party, enter a Pokémon Center and use the PC to remove a Pokémon from your party. Save the game and turn the GBA OFF.

Insert the Pokémon Colosseum Bonus Disc into the GameCube and turn the power ON. From the Main Menu, scroll right to select JIRACHI Special Gift. Look at the TV screen and carefully follow the instructions to connect the Game Boy Advance to the Nintendo GameCube with a Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance cable. Do not turn the power OFF or unplug the GC/GBA cable.

Check the screen on your GBA. You should now have JIRACHI!

Communication with the GBA has been terminated. Turn the GBA OFF and unplug the GC/GBA cable.

CONSUMER NOTICE: When you download Jirachi to your Pokémon Ruby or Sapphire Game Pak, your Berry Program will be automatically updated. There is a minor issue with the Berry Program that affects small areas in the game (such as growing certain berries) after one full calendar year of game play. Once your Berry Program is updated, it will not need to be updated again.
The back of the special disc case says that Jirachi CANNOT be downloaded using the Game Boy Player :(

HTH...

Actually, they're stronger bub.

It's been proven that they are NOT stronger. The program Pokémon NetBattle proves this when you tinker around with your Pokémon's DVs. The scale goes from 1 to 15, and in order to get a Shining Pokémon all of its DVs but Attack must be at 7. Using the right Pokémon and raising, anything can go past 7, and having DVs equally at 7 isn't something you'd want to brag about. :p

And the Petaya and Apicot berries do NOT come from Jirachi. You can only get them from using PokéCoupons in Pokémon Colosseum. Jirachi only holds the Salac and Ganlon Berries.

Elite Trainer Raven, I may be wrong, but I doubt it;) , but isnt that the GSC formula for shineys. Which is why Shineys where so easy to bread (1:64) too. Well, this is RuSa we are talking about, and DVs are now like 1-30 or whatever, and they dont determine shineyness (If it is even a word, is it spelled corectly?) at all, it is determined by something else (off the top of my head dont recall what). And Shineys can be just as strong as non shineys too I think... my 2 cents, correct or not...

I looked into it. The formula I used is indeed referring to the GSC Shining Pokémon. For that part, I was right about the Shining Pokémon being weaker than normal ones. What I was wrong about was that the formula doesn't apply to RuSa now. Apparently, the Shining effect is just random and doesn't affect the stats. So now we all know that I was behind with the formulas. :p My mistake.
