However from my experience of being there like 5 times, there is no building that is big enough to fit that many people.
McCormick Place and Navy Pier were designed to hold that many people.

Keep your kids away from the casino or stay at a different hotel. Problem solved. The casino is in a completely different building so if kids are wandering over there then it's the parent's problem. The only big building that can fit that many people in Niagara Falls is a casino and that is not good for children.
Why reinvent the wheel when it already turns.

There are so, so many places in Chicago that could accommodate Worlds - beautiful places too. Chicago is a huge city. Conventions much larger than Worlds are held successfully there on a daily basis...
something to consider: is TPCi booking the worlds venue in order to 'wow!' a first-time worlds participant, or to satisfy the desires of a repeat attendee to not be 'bored' by 'another' trip to hawaii?
'mom
Or is it just so TPCI/Nintendo/whoever can get a free vacation to Hawaii every now and then?

Is it a vacation with the hours they work while there?
I'm a production assistant in the film industry and regularly work 12 hour days, sometimes even up to 16. I know what a long day of work is. Walking around watching kids play pokemon can barely be called "work" and I have judged plenty of events before.
I'm not knocking what TOs and judges do for us players, but the amount of effort put into the "job" does not change anything. It's still a vacation.
it is NOT a vacation for the judging staff, much less the OP staff. judge 'call time' is usually at least 90 minutes prior to when players arrive, and OP staff is earlier than that. and if you think the judge/OP staff are out of the venue as soon as the final round is over, you're wrong there too...I'm a production assistant in the film industry and regularly work 12 hour days, sometimes even up to 16. Wisconsin Dells. It's a vacationy place, and I'm fairly sure it would have a convention center big enough for worlds. And it's in a new place and far away from hurricanes like florida.
I would contend that the handful of staff who end up hanging out at the Worlds location after the event do so because the location is nice.
