I think the format is going to be shoved into a box...shaken up...and then dumped out again...I cannot think of a format where everything is going to change so quickly in the middle of a season...

I cannot wait to see what you guys make out of these new LEGOs!!

And the fact that Magnemite is a 60 HP Basic that's weak to Fighting. I doubt Magnezone will see much play.

Well actually, the Dark-Type Deino doesn't see play. Practically every Hydreigon uses the two Dragon-Type Deinos. And Eelektrik is a Stage 1 energy acceleration, and Magnezone is a Stage 2 that allows you to play an extra supporter. Magnemite's drawback of a Fighting weakness is simply not worth an extra supporter, especially when Landorus EX will continue to be part of the meta next set.

I think it is pretty foolish to completely write Magnezone off. It might end up being binder fodder, a fun only deck, a League deck, or something we see in an actual tournament. After all, nothing stops you from throwing cards into a Magnezone that can punish Landorus EX, and with twin Supporters, you can run a lot of the disruptive Supporters that normally don't cut it.

I actually run both deinos in my deck just in case I run into an opponent with a rayquaza, also like otaku said you shouldn't write off magnezone just yet. If you don't want yours, just give them to me. : )

My intention wasn't to completely write off Magnezone seeing competitive play; I simply wanted to emphasize how prominent Landorus EX will become next set, especially with Ether finally being released. Don't get me wrong, I actually really like Magnezone. But I truly believe that Landorus will hinder any creative plays that Magnezone can take advantage of in the next meta. In a format where early game Fighting attackers are nonexistent, and with a variety of Supporters to chose from (notably disruption supporters such as Ghetsis) is where Magnezone can shine, but certainly not next set.

If anything the new Trainer cards we get enhance already existing decks.
Hypnotoxic Laser/Virbank Gym is gonna see a lot of play and is a prime example of those "exact KOs" when a lot of damage still isn't enough.
Scramble Switch is like the new Shaymin UL. And is the ACE SPEC I'm most interested in at the moment.
And of course, since losing Junk Arm was such a heavy loss, they give it back... kinda. I type obviously about Dowsing Machine.

Ho-oh is definitly dieing and will be dead when Elesa comes out and Garbodor comes back and I must say Gold Potion is the best out of all of them because I own 2 Comp and I say it's horrible and my friends agree while scramble switch is better than dowsing machine but I wound't use it over Gold Potion. The next good ace specs come out in BW9 and are Rock guard which is pretty much a rocky helmet but does 40 more damage and Makes Landorus better it attached but make Landorus look useless when against it and Life drops which takes away Lugia Ex's ability for a turn and is annoying in Darkrai decks but with those comes the revival of tool scrapper

I dont think Ho-oh will be dead, its one of the best energy excels in the format, and Elesa may improve Garbodor abit but i dont expect it to increase play by much.Gold Potion works in some decks but Computer Search has more options and makes more sense. BW9's ACE SPEC's arnt going to be used much-maybe Life Drop's but like said Tool Scrappers then played.Lugia wont be 100% affected by Life Drops-it would still take 1 prize on a non-EX and 2 on a EX.

Hooh dead because of elesa? lol. That is an awesome funny statement. If anything itll be made stronger if people run it like Ross' old 'truth' deck.

Lugia may see some play, pretty brutal attack for its ability. Synergy to be had there, Sableye/Lugia EX/other cards of secret should be a fun deck.

I wanna get a full set of that Reshiram and make a deck with Plasma Chandelure. I've done some tinkering and it seems feasible. Forget Keldeo. I wanna play the Reshiram jam. Call it Reshilure. Of course Mewtwo will have to tag along... I actually have the theorymon thought out and on paper.

Magnezone, like Vileplume is not a card people should be writing off. However, considering the format I would have to dismiss it for now. I'll admit something is very wrong with the format when a card like that is considered bad, but maybe it will come more viable when the problematic cards are rotated in a couple of seasons time.
