SW, the extra HP, healing, and attacks are all better.

The real choice though it how to run it after that.

I personly don't like either due to water weakness, but if you must use it, than the sw is better.

I have played both with Typhlosion and I prefer the SW as well. That extra 10 HP can make a difference and Flame Body is nice. Fireball Bazooka can hit the bench and Flame Blast can really be great - if you have 4 fire and have leveled up you can decide between 80 on the active or discarding 2 fire and hitting anyone for 100. On the next turn you can just attach another fire, remove 2 damage, then decide between 60 damage or 40 and 20 and 20.

Personally, I run one MT. SW is better, but MT has Smoke Bomb which can be a good stall technique to allow you to recover in some situaitons. It has helped me.

I strongly believe the SW one alone, can make a decent tank deck on it's own, I'm currently trying to figure out a decent way to play it.

ive thought about combining magmotar SW with arcanine SW. spread damage then arcanine swoops in and OHKO almost anything alive. 40 to itself hurts, but with buffer piece, it may still take 80 to knock out arcanine after flame dash. u guys think this can work?

If there's anything that Arcanine SW can actually tech into, it'd be Magmortar.

The question is... Does Magmortar need it? I mean, look at Fire Blast. 20 for each energy on Magmortar? So an activated Scramble, and 2 fire energy attached does 100 damage? For no backlash? On a pokemon we're already charging as an attacker? Do we REALLY need Arcanine? I... Don't think so. Maybe as a back up hitter, when Magmortar's about to die. Even then, you should be using Typholosions to power up a second Magmortar on the bench when that looks like it might happpen soon.

Extra power looks nice, but redundancy doesn't, especially if it just barely damages the active better then Magmortar. If it did 10 more damage to OHKO Blissey, Garde LV.X, and Gallade, then I'd be all for it, but since it doesn't...

its energy CARDS so the scramble doesn't make a difference. i like the arcanine idea.

Scramble is awesome for the Flameblast attack, automatic +60, not very good for the Flame Bluster attack (sniping for 100)

Fire blast is number of energy, Flame Bluster is discarding 2 energy cards. Notice I mentioned no backlash (discarding energy would be considered a backlash, for rather obvious reasons).

the best way to run magmortar SW or MT one is with Delcatty.

fire blast is number of energy CARDS as well learn to errata.
  19. fchangus2

no, errata is only on the Lv X, does not affect Fire Blast on Magmortar SW

yeahno. its energy. stop telling people to learn and do so yourself. you can scramble 60 or DRE 30 with FLAME blast.
